It’s that generation SYNC. My wife’s 2019 Explorer does crazy things all the time and I have to reset it. Reset has never failed to fix it though. Various Ford forums have the issue documented really well as it’s pretty widespread.
My 2020 F-150 has the new generation SYNC and I’ve had no issues with it.
