I would delete this and keep this to myself before they change their mind and tax you for it.

Take the $15K and be happy and hush about it.

Pretty sure it is taxable.

"Canceled, forgiven, or discharged for less than the amount you must pay, the amount of the canceled debt is taxable and you must report the canceled debt on your tax return for the year the cancellation occurs."
