More than a little pressure on Davis

Jeff Quinn is out at ND.
Been with CBK forever and close friends by all accounts. I'd venture to say he'd be our OL coach if this had happened around the time of CBK announcement.
Adds even more pressure to develop the major weakness of the team. He's a good coach - he knows it comes with the territory.
Don't get me wrong! I'm 100% a Davis man!

Quinn could've just followed him to lsu if he wanted.

The perfect mediocrity of your posts make them difficult to criticize. That same lack of distinction probably also describes your life away from the keyboard exactly.

Imo, if Quinn is that good at what he does, then CBK will have a spot for him. Davis was a must keep though. I really like his style and professionalism he displayed. Classy guy.

Bring him in as analyst
I thought he was having some health issues

CBK hired him as an offensive analyst in 2015 after he was let go by Buffalo, also worked in S&C for a couples years before being promoted back to OL coach in 2018.

I don’t think it would be crazy to think he rejoins CBK in a lesser role. This is good news for us!

Kelly didn't ask him to come with him as OL coach
If he would have Quinn more than likely would have come

Kelly from all reports was super impressed with Davis as interim coach

I actually loved BD as interim coach as well, but let's face it, the one postion group that was relatively intact for the bowl performed terribly, especially in the run game, and that's with:

Wire, Ingram, Shanahan, Hines and Deculus

and? They had an analyst coaching them because Davis was HC

Also its hard to perform in the run game when the other team has little worry about you passing because you have a WR playing QB

All of the ND coaches stayed behind b/c that was part of the deal to keep the staff intact so Freeman could be the head coach. ND rushed all of this in hopes they could make the playoffs b/c the playoff committee basically said that ND not having a head coach could have been a factor in their final ranking.

I'm happy with Davis and hope he sticks around. But OP isn't wrong that there is a good chance Quinn gets a bump at LSU evenutally. It could be a couple of years, but if/when Davis leaves, my money is on Quinn replacing him.

Well, it is at least as good a contribution as this nonsensical thread.
