Pretty much what everyone else has said. Thanks for the one season where you gave a shite Derek

Won’t be anyone special in terms of players you look back at years later and say yea that guy had heart and put his mark on the program. He’s just not that guy. Could’ve been the GOAT, but chose not to be.

I really wanted to like Stingley. He did some great stuff for us. Not sure if was him leaving early this year or the whole season in general but have lost any positive feelings for him.

Certainly can't be labeled as the best D-Back in LSU history. There have just been too many amazing ones.

[My two top faves are Corey Webster and The Honey Badger, but that's a different topic.]

I think time will tell, once he puts together a history of play, but I will root for his success like all the other Tigers.

Actually as far as the NFL goes I root for players more than teams.

I still have feelings for him, but they don’t burn as hot as they did in 2019.

I respect his ability and his contribution to the Tigers. I'll never dislike a guy who played for us and never transferred out even if he opted out or whatever. That said I don't hold him in the same rare air as PP7, TM7 C. Webster, LaRon or even Ron Brooks type. Those guys gave everything. There was so much hype that wasn't ever put on the field. I mean everyone was talking about him on offense and a Heisman leader, but he didn't even put together a real first team All American season. I hope he is a good ambassador for LSU, but I have serious doubts he will. That will determine how much respect I put on him.

I also think that his dad put a bad taste in the mouth of many fans that hurts his perception.

Rooting for him in the NFL because he’s a Tiger and didn’t transfer. But since his freshman year he’s been more worried about the future than his current team. Hey I get it, millions at stake. He just wasn’t a leader. Hope he does bug things in the NFL. He’s just not gonna be one of my favorite Past Tigers

Supremely talented. Could’ve been the best but didn’t reach his potential here. Got absolutely robbed of the SEC freshman of the year in 2019. Helped us win a natty. Will be rooting for him in the NFL.

Always a Tiger but nothing special. Had opportunity to be one of greatest LSU players, all american, etc. But he didnt come through due to injuries and other stuff.

great talent, had one great year and then mailed in it in until the NFL is available to him...

he simply didn't want to play bad enough IMHO...

so that makes me not really like him too much...doubt he does much in the NFL because the last 2 years showed me what he's made of

hope he proves me wrong

Integral part of 2019. Did have a lot of injuries after that year. Thankful we had him. Several plays come to mind that preserved the 2019 season.

Stingley is about Stingley! Great freshmen year then he went into protection mode. I would be very surprised if he makes it past 5 years in the Pros, to fragile. IMO
