I agree with on pre-workout. That being said, workout intensity should be driving factor.
If you’re a 2 minute rest between sets while you look at your phone and stick to machines, then you really don’t need it.
If your workouts are more intense and less social oriented, you may appreciate the boost at the end of that hour.
I disagree on protein. Been doing more calorie deficit and added protein because i wanted to mix it up. Started seeing much better results in fat loss with added protein.
Like with all things fitness, individual body composition determines the effectiveness of protein/pre workouts.

Lol. When you are lifting heavy in a linear program you need rest between sets. It's not to play grab-arse, it's to make the next set possible.
