Almost all of us here are LSU fans and we see the Tigers from the "inside" and see what we feel to be strong points and weak. There are even games we go into with worries about losing. I just wonder how other fans see LSU football. The monster that UF was under Spurrier? The kind of program which can pretty much beat anyone? Etc.

i think overall there is a general lack of knowledge for the history of our program

many will argue that LSU only became good recently

and they completely glance over where we rank in all-time wins and have no clue exactly how high we stand, in fact i think a lot of LSU fans dont even know

Since 2003, LSU is year in and year out one of the best CF programs in the country, and will be in the hunt for the MNC for the forseeable future.

Unfortunately and for the most part, those views aren't welcomed here. Personally, I enjoy hearing from others even when it's not all peachy and rosey...from LSU fans as well.

I can tell you that Vol fans admire the run that LSU is having right now. At least 2-3 times a day someone calls the sports talk show up here in Knoxville and compliments LSU's program with regards to how exciting it is to watch the team play as well as how we win big games on a big stage.

I have relatives and friends from Alabama (some Bama fans and some Auburn fans) and my take is that they still don't have any respect for Miles as a coach.

We'll leave the "mythical" National Championships to USC ... LSU wins their championships outright on the field!

LSU is looked at as the big dog in College football, by a lot people down here in S. Florida. (the ones that aren't Gator fans anyway)

Trust me, had the shoe been on the other foot
you'd be happy to have the AP crown you National Champions.

Not that you'll ever admit it until you get it.

Overall, LSU is regarded as a jock factory party school with average academics and a better than average looking student body which is socially dominated by Greek organizations. At least this is what my Pa (Grad '58) told me when I enrolled.

Since I was born in 1970, I remember the 1980s well. We were stout back then. I just wish we could've taken one of those bowl games against Nebraska.

Dude, since the NCAA does not award a national championship for football it is decided by the B.C.S. Committee, and, therefore, is called a "Mythical National Championship". We have two.

I know a lot of people in Atlanta (GT fans) who like LSU and think they're good, and hope that whenever they play UGA they'll beat the living snot out of the DAWGS

Finebaum pretty much thought the program was a joke Pre-Saban.

I work with a Gump, and I can tell you he is pumped about LSU's former coach transforming Bama "like he did at LSU."

Except, of course, he considers it his birthright as a true Gump.

Unfortunately I work with narrow-minded Gator, Dawg, and Tide fans who would slit their wrists before they acknowledge LSU as a powerhouse

LSU gets little if any coverage in the Nashville area.

I think most people now think of LSU of a near-elite if not elite program now. A lot people grew up with LSU being down (1989 - 1999), except for a few Dinardo years. Even before that, LSU was always a good program but not a great one. LSU only had a few losing seasons between 1958 - 1988, but rarely challenged for national titles.
