My observation from many years of hunting in Texas is that driving up in the ranch truck and they often didn’t pick their heads up, drive down the ranch road in any other vehicle they weren’t used to and they would haul arse.

Thankfully for us, we have a lot of oil and gas contractors that cut through our ranch and it allows use to drive whatever we want and not have to worry about anything.

We have a central parking area that gets use to many of our stands so the deer are used to seeing sxs in that area. Some stands are 500 yards and others are 200 yards from that spot. We also have an electric sxs that we use when we feel like we’re going into an area that is close to bedding or known bucks.

I’ll add there is a huge difference in Louisiana/ Mississippi deer and Texas deer as well as how much pressure is put on them. That’s probably the biggest factor.
