I mean is a decoy really worth taking a guys life over? I mean good lord, as bad as him doing what he did is, the people saying they would’ve tried to shoot him dead is way worse lol.

While I agree that shooting the guy in retaliation for shooting a decoy is over the top, my concern is where will the guy point that gun next. I could easily see someone seeing the gun pulled out, deciding there are imminent danger, and returning fire. Particularly if the decoys are directly between the idiot in the boat and the blind so the idiot is point the gun in the direction of the blind.
Recipe for disaster all the way around.
