...ten years since we went into the Georgia game ranked number six in the polls, only to come out of it with a heartbreaking 1 point loss on ESPN? Quincy Carter singlehandedly beat us that night, as nothing Lou Tepper threw at him worked. Herb Tyler did his part to keep us within strking distance, but when you have to settle for John Corbello field goals instead of touchdowns, you can hardly expect to win. As disappointed as I was, I had no idea that our season would spiral out of control beginning with the egg that we laid that night.

He wrote about about his defense. That was smart, write a book so that everyone knows what you are doing.

I have a different point of view about that game. Not taking anything away from Carter, but Tepper's miserable defense made him look like a star that night. Carter threw up quite a few lame ducks that were caught by unbelievably wide open receivers. Time and time again it happened in the game. DiNardo was so hard-headed about the new defensive scheme, as he refused to implement it over time. Instead, opting to install an all-or-nothing approach that could not, and obviously did not, work. That year was so frustrating as there was a lot of talent on that team

I seem to remember Champ Bailey sticking it to us pretty good that night...I was a student at the time though so my memory could be cloudy.

I can remember being at home games and the guy behind us yelling "If Lou Tepper was one fire, I wouldn't piss on him"

What was he, 16? I didn't know he also went by the alias of Wade Richey.

Not Corbello, not Wade Richey.

It was Christian Chauvin who later transferred to Tennessee.

That is correct. However, as you know, from that point on, Georgia managed a touchdown with the always important extra point, whereas we only managed two field goals from John Corbello, thus assuring our loss.
