Closing the year with a fast

I'm closing the year out with a nice, long 72 hour fast. I'm thinking about doing this quarterly going forward as a way to clean out the system and try to reap some of the benefits.
Anyone else doing something similar right now? This will be my longest fast ever by about 3 days.

I did it last year. 29th-31st and about half the day on the 1st. I think it is a great thing to do. I have thought about doing it again myself. Maybe in a few weeks time.

Do you still take vitamins during a fast, or do you even cut those out too?

You should consume some electrolytes i think.

Do you have trouble sleeping on an empty stomach? I feel like this would keep me awake

I'm about at hour 68 and shits getting weird. I feel an alertness and clarity I have never experienced before, almost cat like reflexes. Like I'm levitating an inch off the ground. My hands normally have a really subtle shake if I hold then out flat in front of me, but right now they are as stable as iron.
No real hunger pains at all. I almost don't want to stop.

Thank's for the update. Day 2 is the worst imo. I went about 90 hours my first time. Ate NYD meal to break it.

Wish I saw this thread earlier. Would’ve joined ya. I need to do a nice fast soon.

I broke it at about 75 hours with some broth then a small slice of pizza an hour or so later with the family.
I don't know if there are really any tangible benefits from it, but I'm glad I did it if nothing rose for the confidence boost of knowing that I can.
I think I'll go on with doing this to close out each quarter through the year, maybe extend it to 96 hours since I felt so good and strong at the 72 hour mark.

A few questions, if you don't mind
1.) Strict water only - 0 calories, or will you be consuming electrolyte drinks with minimal calories?
2.) Any vitamins or supplements?
3.) How long are you fasting?
4.) Exercising or laying low?

Any thoughts now that you're back to normal?

Thinking about doing a fast in February. How are you feeling a few weeks later?

There absolutely are! I used to be opposed to fasting due to my old school bodybuilding biases getting the best of me, but new research has me sold on it.
Whether it's intermittent fasting or multiple day fasts, the benefits are clear. The number one benefit is the slowing down - and even in some ways reversing - of the aging process.
Anyone interested in learning some hard science behind this can check out Andrew Huberman's podcast interview with Harvard's David Sinclair. He's a professor of genetics and co-director of the Center for Biology of Aging Research at Harvard Medical School. He has his own podcast as well.
I personally do intermittent with a 16 off 8 on schedule.
