It's more of "wait your turn", but no matter how much a lot of them develop, he's got tons of new recruits or portal studs coming in that can play right away.
"Wait your turn" only works when they get some PT and Nicks not loading up with 30-35+ new faces every year (not sure how they do that but I guess via PWO). Anyway, my .02...

No. There were actual reports by recruiting pages that Bama wasn't interested in Ricks and only wanted Doman Jackson. Now. Maybe things changed when Jackson committed to USC. ORRRRR he was pushing the narrative either way of not being interested in Ricks to deceive recruits as the OP suggested. Which I totally buy.

No question a big part of his recruiting strategy is manipulating recruits and their parents. But with the transfer portal and NIL deals he may not be able to hold on many of them.

Doubt many guys go to Bama thinking they aren’t better than the guys ahead of them or in the same class as them.

1. Common knwpedge what his destination possibilities were and Bama or USCw were the only real possibilities.
2. Pretty sure if he transferred before the date he did, LSU would not have had the option to add a scholarship player via the portal to replace him.

Lil Satan is the ultimate competitor, win at all cost! That includes, at the cost of his own players sometimes! As long as you understand that as a player, then you shouldn’t be surprised at his actions! They will always be geared to winning, even if it is at the players expense!

A guy like Ricks only plays one year (and probably not even a full year). I doubt a freshmen set to receive a scholarship to play for Saban looks elsewhere based on a one year guy transferring for his final year.
