There are thousands of ways NCAA could have approached the problem in a way that protected the values of the sport- sportsmanship, teamwork , education / development, etc. Instead we through the gates open and add the no penalty transfer portal lunacy on top of it. They will try and put the genie back in the bottle and it will fail. We are watching the end of college athletics and the beginning of the minor leagues .

Can't be a minor league because you can't get sent BACK to college from the pros. What you can call it is developmental league, much like the Canadians have set up with junior league hockey. All they really have left to do is to classify the players as employees and drop the student part of student-athlete.
