Ricks situation highlights sad state of affairs in CFB

I’m sure there will be 100000 threads on this, but man…
CFB is dead. Take LSU out of the equation. Going to be 3 different team jerseys per every 2021 5-star by 2024.
How can fans attach themselves to revolving-door rosters in a league that fielded the same 3/4 teams every postseason BEFORE introducing transfer-at-will?
Yes, I’m melting. This is not looking good for CFB & I’d bet you could find non-LSU fans who would agree. This is a different league.

I think some things need to be tweaked such as a team can block a player from transferring within the same conference.

Is Alabama really going to benefit from this? A grad transfer I can understand but this portal crap? And are we really going to trade qbs with the Aggies? This is NFL Lite. Pretty sad.

The entire appeal of an amateur league was the teams & the rivalries & the competing for pride. We will benefit from it sooner or later.

Possibly. If Ricks went to USC or Ohio State so be it. But to go to a SEC West team is BS. Two players that were on suspension for failing drug test pack up and go to Kentucky start day one. That’s BS. If players want to leave a school fine but a good compromise is go to another conference or sit a year if you choose to stay in the same conference.

It’s just the entitlement era we live in now. Children think they are deserving of something. Then woke ESPN says shite like “well coaches do it all the time”. Actually they don’t. Coaches are locked into contracts. If you break that contract there is a penalty.
There is no penalty for these little shits. Yes, transfer portal and NIL and “social justice” ruined college athletics. Maybe that will force regular folks to pay attention to what is important and not college children.
