I mean like 4 threads have been bumped and I’m being called out in the one thread that I was the very first poster to strongly defend him in.
I’m not even sure what our record was at that exact moment, but being worried about overall team defense and its impact on winning when our 3 best players at the time on the roster were Zion, Ingram, and Jonas was completely valid.
Obviously Herb has become all world on that end. Jose was implemented. Nance was received in a trade. Ingram bought in defensively. We got freaking CJ Mccollum as a leader and 2nd or 3rd scorer. Drafted defensive wizard Dyson. Zion bought in defensively halfway through this year. Etc. It’s obviously an entirely different team situation than what we had at the time.
I still defended an injured, overweight, and rumored malcontent Z more than 95% of people did in that thread. I’ve always been team Z from a human perspective and hell, I even called him an all pro caliber player from a basketball perspective.

I'm not sure why you'd think it's crazy you're being called out when you said it will be "almost impossible" for us to ever make the playoffs as long as Zion is on the team.
What is there to defend about that statement? Why would you want to defend that statement?
quote:So you thought the team would never ever ever change during Zion's entire tenure? Because AGAIN, your post wasn't about that season, it was specifically stating as long as Zion is here, it will be "almost impossible" to even make the playoffs.
It’s obviously an entirely different team situation than what we had at the time.
