Dell and Lenovo are quality brands for laptops. I have a Lenovo and my wife has a Dell, no complaints.
Don’t think you can go wrong with either, so best thing would go for the best specs to cost ratio.

Are you using it for gaming? I have one of the dell G series (can’t remember which off top of my head but it was on the more expensive side) and the fans are loud af.

I went through this same scenario this last year and I got the Acer Predator Helios 300 and its pretty great.
