Coach Hank Tierney on RB Braydon Johnson

Part of an interview during their dome walk through this morning.
quote:
While Tierney has all those stars, the brightest of stars has been Johnson. “I’m kind of amazed,” Tierney said. “He’s probably the most under-recruited player ever that I’ve had. When I say ever, I mean that I’ve ever coached. He’s a 4.5 guy at 215 pounds averaging eight yards a carry. I just don’t know what the college coaches are not seeing.”

Seems like a pretty fair comparison. Johnson actually made a few nice catches out of the backfield against Acadiana.

He looks like an old school tough as nails football player. He does not look like a major college running back to me and is a bit small for linebacker. Smaller college.

I thought I heard he is supposed to be a better linebacker prospect.

At the absolute worst, he could be a special teams animal at LSU.

No it’s not. Most state teams have offered him

Meant big offer like power 5. I think you knew that though.
Not mcneese, nicholls, or southeastern.

Tulane isn’t P5 either.
He has some things working against him but he is a hell of a high school player.

I had reservations myself until I saw him in this playoff run and he is legit. This young man is an animal and is worthy of a scholarship. At 6-1 215 and running a 4.5 40, let the new S & C coach get ahold of him. We've extended offers to players with far less upside than Braydon Johnson.

He’s every bit as good as Jacob Hester was at Evangel.

How many rings did “Brayden” acquire as a kid playing travel ball?

Watch this interview. He’s about as far from a travel baseball player as you can get lol.
I was about to say I know his dad and if he’s anything like his dad, he’s the exact opposite of a typical travel ball player.

"He's every bit as good as Jacob Hester was at Evangel." What made you think of Hester?
