They would never do that because then catholic couldn’t parade around as state champs. The split allowed them to be relevant . They would have lost to Acadiana,west Monroe, Zachary, ponchatula, destrehan in recent years

Catholic has played some of them in the regular season and won in recent years. In fact, beat Zachary pretty bad a few years.

Zachary and CHS are in the same district starting next year.
