There are reports coming from both Cincinnati and South Bend that Mike Denbrock will be following his longtime friend Brian Kelly to LSU where he will serve as OC.
Denbrock has been OC at Cincinnati since 2017.

The internet doesn't seem to have caught up with these reports. You got links?

Hearing rumblings that former ND coach Mike Denbrock is en route to Louisiana, looks like the former guy got his OC.

And now some Baton Rouge sports based Twitter accounts seem to be regurgitating.
Who knows. Could be real could be clickbait.

Very uninspiring hire if true. Kelly is a very good, but also very flawed, coach. Small timey staffs is one of his biggest flaws. Polian is an ok hire, neither good nor bad really. Denbrock would be a poor hire given the importance of the position.

I can't really argue with what you are saying.
But I would say that both Polian and Denbrock are high-character guys who are good coaches.

Cincy does have a TE commit from Louisiana so he might just be down here on a recruiting visit.

A couple of things.
1. Polian was not well liked by players. He's a new York guy and it didn't work in Indiana, can't imagine it'll be great in LA. Hope you guys like fair catches.
2. Mike Denbock is a great coach, having said that he's part of Kelly's old boy network, and that may be an issue. He can coach about any position offense or defense but he's known for offense now. He's known Kelly since the mid 80s. His offenses would have had much more acclaim at Notre Dame but he was oc during the van Gorder years where every team scored 40 on us. He's best known for the offenses with deshaun kizer and will Fuller
No one at Notre Dame is missing Polian, but he handled some of Kelly's admin duties. Denbock would be a solid get.

You have this backwards. Polian was disliked by players and didn't bring anything to special teams. Notre Dame was pushing him out after Kelly no matter what. He handled a lot of admin tasks for Kelly....that's why he's at lsu.
Denbock is a first class coach...BUT he is also an old school hire as Kelly and he are friends since 1986. I think he was also in Kelly's wedding. On one hand he developed dshawn kizer and will Fuller so he can work with talent...on the other, was he the best option or just a convenient hire of a friend. Notre Dame forced Kelly to fire his old boy network after the 4-8 season...these two hires point to him putting his old band back together.
Be wary.
