Forgetting Saban

I'm wondering what will it take for you guys to forget Nick Saban. He gets close to 20 threads a day on here and I just can't see why we're still crying about this.
Saban put LSU on the map, he is the reason we are where we are today. When guys do that they get attention. Any college coach will always wonder if he can succeed in the Pro's, we can't blame him for leaving. Anyone else up for turning down a promotion at work?
Saban found out he was not an NFL coach. He could intimidate players like he did in college (exept the that USC kid he made cry) So he wanted back in and Alabama was there. He didn't purposely take the job b/c he wanted to defeat his old team, this was the top job available.
Since then we have won another BCS championship and SEC championship and have had more successful seasons with Miles than Saban.
So why do we still need to cry about him, let it go. I don't hear Florida fans still crying about Spurrier. It's b/c they've moved on and continued winning. You better believe when he hears how much we still talk about him, he has that little smirk thinking "Yes, I am God"
Saban should not be anymore than another SEC coach to us. To me the best way to piss him off is to pretend like he never existed @ LSU.

Thanks for starting a new thread about it.

I knew this was comming, but decided not to add "que the, then why did you start another thread about it" line.
I just don't understand why we have make T-shirts about him and worry about what he does in his everyday life

I assume this is sarcasm. God, I hope it is.

The process can continue with an Alabama arse-whooping in a few weeks!

Just slow down a litte and understand what you read.
I like Saban. He came in here and lock down all the talent in La. He brough consistancy to the program and is the reason we are a top program today. But I don't hate the guy, I won't make T-shirts saying Suck Faban, and I could care less what he says in his press conferences.

pretend means that make believe. If people hate Saban so much, making him a daily topic is not how to get back him, I'm saying forget the dude, he loves to be in the headlines. Make the dude a non-issue here.

I see I have catered to the rantards who start the threads everyday.
My bad, didn't mean to piss in your corn flakes.

Your pontifications will not change 1 rant opinion or emotions, so you are wasting your time and energy attempting to do so.
The truth about the LSU program?
Denardo began the building of the fence around the state of Lousiana when he got Kevin Faulk onboard. Kevin and a few other notable players began that pattern. Saban did a study long since and knew what Barry Switzer and many other knew. Lousiana has the most NFL talent per capita for any state WITHOUT another real BCS school to compete with. This fact that he knew, combined with his NFL pedigree, allowed Saban to CONTINUE forward with what DeNardo began. The talent starter to pour in, and Saban had 1 really special year on campus in 2003. Saban's persona was highly appealing to ESPN and that vaulted him even higher to rock star level. Sagan had 1 season in 5 with more than 10 wins. That is 20%. IN comes the Hat...The Hat has had 3 out of 3 season with 11 or more wins and the same number of national championships (so far), and he is well on his way to 4 out of 4 season with 11 or more wins. Miles average stars of his recruits are better than the average stars of the Saban recruiting classes while at LSU.
In summary: Denardo started it. Saban accelerated it. Miles expanded it. Saban had 1 in 5 season with more than 10 wins. Miles has 3 out of 3.

yeah, I know I'm wasting my time. If I ever met Saban, I would't curse the dude like so many on here say they would, I'd thank the guy.
Most programs applaud guys who won champinships for thier program. We want the guys head on a platter. I agree that I wanna kick his arse when we play him, but more b/c it's Alabama, not so much cause it's Saban.

I think LSU fans will get over Saban when he leaves Alabama.
Nick Saban is a great football coach and it has become evident that he will turn Alabama around over the next few years. After that I think he will leave and go somewhere else before he retires.
I think he is one of those nomadic coachs that takes pride in his ability to prove how good he is. It was never about LSU and it is not about Alabama right now, it is about Nick Saban. He will turn BAMA around and walk off saying, "I told y'all i'm the best". It is just who he is.
For what it's worth, alabama fans would feel the same way LSU fans feel right now if the shoe were on the other foot. He was LSU's coach first and now he is just down the road and something is just not right about that.

C'mon.....Tubby smoked a frickin' cigar at LSU about a hundred years ago and we STILL have people worked up at hating the guy. Saban has a much closer tie to LSU than that.
Some people get worked up over traffic and honk horns and flip birds. Others let people merge in and wait patiently.
Human nature. It will ebb slightly, but not for a while. Trying to talk the "bird flippers" into becoming "mergers" is fruitless.
Ignore them

I cannot agree more. The man put LSU on the map, gave all of us a National Championship that we are still riding on. Without him I really wonder where the LSU football program would be.
When you are good, you are simply good. Give the man credit.

I agree 100%.
Saban coming to BAMA goes against everything that is southern. I am glad he is here and turning this program around and I wish he loved Alabama like I do but I know that he doesn't. He is like a hired gun, you bring him in to do a job and when it is done he goes to the next town.
