I don't know if this is good, but I do know McMahon was very strong. I get Kelly wanting his guys, not knocking that, but McMahon might be missed.

Probably the best our ST have been in a very, very long time.

I googled Polian and don't see much good or bad.

So much for no one coming with him. That's two so far.

Bill Polian's son which is cool. And he was a head coach at Nevada, so he's got some great experience.

Our punt returning has been non-existent. We have been recruiting great punters and kickers though.

Clean house frick it. Bring in a new culture.

We had great field goal kickers under McMahon but his scheming was very suspect we didn't have any decent kick returners back nor would they ever return it was almost always fair catch same with punt returning. Just didn't see any strategy in the return game.

I'll never forget in 2019 the 3 onside kicks against Bama, Texas and ole Miss I think that our guys looked competelt lost and through dumb luck we ended up getting the ball.

Eh

Field goal kicking was great but punting and punt returns was pretty average.

I think a lot of that is Orgeron wanting to fair catch it all the time to prevent turnovers. Our coverage has been great, our kickers and punters have been really good, and our recruiting of those positions has been lights out.

I think Orgeron prefers the fair catch.

And punting was very solid until this year which we got kind of fricked by Peyton Todd's injury.

How strong have they really been? Yes, we can kick the ball. But our return games have been missing for several years in a row.

Kickers? Yes.

Punters? Meh. They signed the #1 punter last season...who didn't play this season. Instead, LSU had their KO specialist handle the punting. He was OK, but by no means great. LSU was around 50th nationally in net punting. The return game was largely non-existent.

Hopefully LSU can continue to get great place kickers. Otherwise, the special teams have been good, but not remarkable.

I give McMahon credit for bringing in some great FG kickers. Our return teams sucked under him. Don't recall many punt blocks etc.
