No luck again this morning.. the fog didn’t leave until 9 am. I stayed until 11am hopeing to see some birds but gave up.

The only action I had was a hunter in a boat who saw my decoys and started shooting at them. He got off three shots my decoys, and I quickly let off a shot and he screamed I’m sorry and put it in reverse and never came around the turn.

I am thinking of paying for a hunt in a flooded field… I see posts on fb 200 a gun.. do y’all think that’s worth it right now? I could just use the 200 on more decoys and a mojo in hopes of being able to attract more ducks. I just haven’t seen any real numbers the last two trips and I would be worried they might not have the numbers to shoot at.

I hunt a flooded field and it was good the first week. Pretty slow since then. If you do a guided trip, wait until the last week of the second split or try to find one when the weather gets cold.

Where do you hunt?

If you’re not seeing 200 birds why put out that many decoys? You’d be better served with 9-12 decoy spread of high quality decoys.

Going on a guided hunt for $200 is likely a waste of money, unless you hit some perfect weather conditions.

If you don't mind shooting 2 specks, a lone teal, and a pair of spoonies in a full 6 man pit blind than go give it a try.

Guides in SWLA are struggling their arse off right now, many of them are on FB advertising mid season(RED FLAG) and the pics they are advertising with from this season are embarrasing.

It's tough everywhere right now, but if you're looking for a change of scenery or a new experience than go give it a spin, it can't hurt.
