Can someone explain LSU and NIL?

I keep seeing posts saying things like, "LSU needs to step up their NIL game."
I thought we already have players utilizing NIL?
What am I missing?

Bryce Young has around 1 million dollars in NIL deals
Someone has to write the checks

NIL and the portal are going to destroy college football

I don't think LSU has necessarily been doing anything to get deals for their athletes. I read that Ohio State already has NIL endorsements in place for Eli Ricks for >$1M if he goes there.

LSU admin is on top of it, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a lot of people opening their checkbooks and contributing. Other schools boosters have had a lot more success securing funding.
The people that forked out for the coaching change need to throw some cash for NIL.

People think NIL is big money for everyone. It’s not much different anywhere else. LSU has 1 or two highly marketable players.
There has to be return value for endorsements. It’s not a 1 sided thing
Eli Ricks doesn’t have $1m for him at Ohio St. no one knows who Eli ricks is

how is it against the rules for a high dollar booster to give a kid money to come play for LSU but it is OK for a high dollar booster who owns Raising Canes (for example) to pay the kid big NIL money if he comes to LSU?

Advertisers (largely boosters) pay money to players to market for them. I wonder how much of the money being ponied up for coaching buyouts by the boosters is affecting how much there is leftover for NIL. I'll accept my downvotes. But schools didn't fight NIL b/c they care about amateur statuses. They know advertisers/boosters will spend X amount of money. With NIL, they are having to share that pot of money with the players.

What does LA or Baton Rouge offer as far as NIL deals for players? Surely Canes cant endorse them all.. We need prominent companies in and outside of LA; LSU athletics should okay a role in getting these deals but not sure how.
