No the dumbest thing is you agreeing with me then 5 minutes later disagreeing and calling it the dumbest thing youve ever seen.
Except that did not happen. I was agreeing with the overall sentiment and have made that point before that he should not be in the discussion. Perhaps I should have slowed down to point out that saying he isn't close is without a doubt the most laughable opinion ever given on this board and you have some pretty stiff competition in that category.
And if you don't think the voters have their collective eye on drew Brees then you are a fool. They're waiting to see what happens in his next 3 games (brutal stretch that many dont believe, myself included, he'll be able to come out of 3-0) and if he wins those games while playing at his current level he will be at the top of the list
I agree with Vicks kennel club to a point ("he's fricking awesome but his numbers are behind the other contenders") however he's not looking at how drastically drew has cut the gap in those numbers over the last 5 weeks.

I guess thats a matter of opinion

If a guy doesn't win an MVP while taking his team to the playoffs without multiple coaches, management, and a defense with similar stats to the other candidates he never will.
It all remains to be seen.

The point like I said was "right now"
If the vote was taken right now Brees wouldnt be close to winning the MVP.
Thats alright though, You just have a hard time being objective. I have the same problem sometimes.

Nothing wrong with that
Wish we could remember how to tackle though

Peyton's on a completely different team that was anemic on offense last year and it looks like he might as well be throwing the ball to Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison. You cannot overlook what he has done. And I'm not ready to applaud drew's season until its over because as it stands the saints have no room for error and could be out of the playoff hunt in 2 weeks, god forbid. Your post kind of just Assumes the saints win out. They're 5-5 and while as a saints fan that feels great, it's really not impressive...yet

It's really not a matter of being objective. Drew wouldn't get votes right now only because his team is 5-5. So it's really not a matter of numbers because if the saints were 7-3 he'd be the favorite right now. The same 4 guys fluctuate year to year and week to week so a mid season tally is a frivolous endeavor. I remember when everyone was saying Peyton has lost it in week 3 and in week 5 he was the best QB in the league.

Mannings to lose. He's tossing to D Thomas, Eric Decker, and Brandon frickin Stokley, who's old as shite. He's doing the most with the least.

Decker/Thomas/Stokley >>>> Alderick Robinson/Josh Morgan/Santana Moss

Demaryius Thomas is awesome

No. He has an awesome defense, a top flight wideout and before his injury a proven back. Rodgers is throwing to Randall Cobb and jordy Nelson, an overrated TE and no runningback to speak of in a tougher division

That would be funny except it's true. First round pick who put up solid seasons with tebow at QB. Also this is only his third year which generally is where you see a WR breakout. He is averaging a ridiculous 16 yards per reception. He is 6th in receiving yards, 8th in yards per catch and is doing this despite being 13th in receptions

Manning's to lose. coming back from neck surgery, a new philosophy, players, and adapting to his limitations all while being a top qb is nuts.
Posted on 11/23/12 at 4:41 pm to Jcorye1
Drew Brees shouldn't be rewarded for players and coaches being suspended
Let me throw in Alex Smith. Check his passer rating and get back to me

Most people do.

The first four weeks have to be held against him. Brees has been Brees for most of the year, but Peyton has simply been more impressive. Peyton has been sick as frick in nine games this year while leading a new team and coming off neck surgery. FWIW, I am Peyton dick sucker, but you would be foolish to not give him the MVP is the season ended today.
If Brees passes him and the Saints win out, then sure he can win it, but the question is right now.
