Came up in the pod how we've sent approximately 70 billion dollars to fund the Ukraine bros' war along side their Azov Nazi bretheren (including 6 billion due to accounting errors by Pentagon). And would cost approximately 5 billion to rebuild Lahaina. But frick them here's a 700 dollar one time payment. Indefensible.

I caught this segment of Rogan. I just uploaded a campaign video on Maui - actually, I have done several now. Latest one mentioned this podcast and what they said about $5B to rebuild the housing and how the HI governor has announced they are beginning to look at land seizure. Joe was pretty much in disbelief that things could be so bad.
HI needs to recall their governor immediately and kick him out of office.
The Maui situation is one of the most shameful sagas in US history, with regard to governmental behavior.
I have pledged to fix Maui and disaster response in this nation. It's so messed up. Shameful. I know people say 'they got what they voted for' sometimes, and in areas like San Fran, that's true. That's not the case in Maui.
Maui has about 165,000 people. For $10B - an amount the federal government could have had there and available weeks ago - they could rebuild Maui and give each resident $25,000.
Not to hijack but to add to the discussion...
Most recent Hustle Bitch video shows a lady that takes down Oprah hard. Oprah and The Rock have gotten scorched, and rightfully so. It's pointed out:
- Oprah owns about 1000 acres on Maui. Own private road. Somehow she was able to purchase that land for less than $7M, which is insane. The true estimated value of it now is about $300M. I don't even understand how that's possible.
- She hired a private firefighting team, before the fires, to protect her land.
- While people are displaced, Oprah didn't offer any chunk of land to allow people to try and set up a temporary place to anchor down. Instead she hired a private security team to keep people off her land.
- Oprah says she's concerned about the people but hasn't said a word about the shady real estate deals where agents are trying take advantage of the tragedy.
- She points out that Oprah and her millionaire and billionaire friends could have jointly funded all or most of the Maui recovery but instead went to regular Americans, most of whom are struggling, to donate. (I'm not of the opinion that Oprah is obligated to rebuild the place or even give a large portion of her wealth to do it, but it is, allegedly, her home and her community, so you'd think she would do more than ask others to give their money.)
One of the shadiest things that makes you raise an eyebrow here is that the police chief from the Vegas mass shooting that seemed to have been obfuscated and kept from a clear investigation, is now the chief in Maui.
When Biden was in FL (in Live Oak, which is about 90 minutes northwest of Gainesville), here is a transcript of this idiot's remarks:
We're working 24/7 here in Florida, throughout the southwest and southeast, and in Maui Hawaii. I wanna reiterate that appreciation today. I also can be my entire cabinet as part of a whole of government response, and that response is to increase the number and the intensity of the extreme weather events and be where we're gonna be, and use all of the resources available to government to do it.
It's as if he's saying the government is causing these events. The problem is that our federal government and its allies in the elite class are so corrupt that such an idea is believable.
While Congress and the administration are going to hold up Maui aid on the condition that Ukraine money is tied to it, douche McConnell is upset that Biden's response for Ukraine is too slow.

The sheriff being the same guy from the Vegas shooting that was memory holed within days is wild.

I had not heard the part about Hawaii governor.
He goes in TV and says the state may take over the land? While people have lost everything. They are reeling and looking for help. State, Fed, their insurance. Thinking where do I start, cleaning up their property, pushing shite into piles. The governor steps in “well let me take this worry off your plate. Can’t worry about rebuilding if I take your land. “ To build housing?? A fricking monument to the dead? A town-sized monument?
Ever been to Galveston? See the 1900 hurricane monument on the sea wall? It’s about as big as 3 phone booths. They also have a museum.
That’s some evil shite there. We are tired of you Poi eating mother frickers having land right on the coast of Maui. Living there for generations. They’ve patiently waited for them to play ball and sell out over the years for low ball offers for land that was now near priceless. So they switch the strategy. Make it worthless. Then sweep in and offer to take the “burden” off their hands.
And yes, 700 bucks. What does that get a family of four in Hawaii? One big trip to a grocery store? And they have to eat it all in a day before it spoils because they have no power, fridge, or home.

Yep. What's going on in Maui right now is abhorrent. Every day it looks more and more like a land grab. And then there's the whole satellite city stuff, that just makes the locals feel even more that this was by design.

Wonder if Joe Rogan still thinks the government should be in charge of a massive safety net for people in case of emergency?
