Just curious. Anyone been personally involved in the recruitment process?

Between Jr High and High School I played against 4 people in the 2001 LSU recruiting class. Plus some later LSU signees, a guy that went to Miami and a guy that went to TCU. 3 NFL guys in that bunch, that I can remember. May have been some other college players too.
Jr high basketball played against the Mouton kid from STM that played at Texas.

I got one letter from Nicholls State in high school, I knew I wouldnt have a chance at college football so I didnt get excited about it. I wouldn't count that as being recruited though.

Yeah, the first game we played, we scored like 4 points.

Yeah... If Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, recruiters would've seen my talent. No doubt. No doubt in my mind.

I was a top 10 recruit at UNO, but it was for my intelligence, not athletic skills.

my brother recv'd lots of D1 scholarship offers and verbally committed to play QB and P at Okla State in 1988. He went on several recruiting visits to Stillwater and watched Barry Sanders run wild during his Heisman season.
then HC Pat Jones called my brother in January 1989 before NSD informing of the Hart Lee Dykes scandal which put OSU on NCAA probation along with the loss of 15 scholarships. My brother was asked to walk-on as he chose to sign his LOI with Ole Miss and later transferred to TROY where he started 3 yrs.
my brother would have signed with LSU in a heart beat as Mike Archer decided to sign Jesse Daigle (whose dad was on staff) , Chad Loup, and Brad Strohm
I was offered CFB scholarships to Rhodes, Millsaps, Hampton Sydney, and Washington & Lee. I chose to attend LSU and party like a rock star

Gotta be the way he is acting on here. Starting to become another BeeFense that just talks shite instead of discussing anything.

That's really cool that your brother had the opportunity to visit OSU while Sanders was there. I could certainly understand the appeal of having the opportunity to play with a once in a lifetime back- it's a shame what happened with Hart Lee Dykes.
Sounds like you weren't too shabby of a player either. I would have killed to have had an offer at the FBS or FCS level.
Still, you made a wise choice and probably kept Bogie's in business...

Yep. #1 LA kid who eventually signed with LSU. Offers from Bama ole miss Florida etc.
Great experience. Met some big time coaches including Saban as he came back to Louisiana for the first time since leaving for Miami job.
