Been lurking for a while, but this is my first post...*dons flame suit*

Has anyone ever heard of a coach being non-renewed/ fired/ whatever the official definition for LSU's decision with Ed O, and then that coach continuing to coach and recruit the remainder of the season?

I have racked my brain on it, Google has been less-than-helpful, and the only names I can come up with were coaches who were retiring - where they announced their retirement at some point mid-to-late-season and finished it out.

I honestly can think of no precedent at any level of football, D3 to NFL, or in any other sport that is comparable to the LSU/ Ed O situation. Can you?

And does it potentially point to him being retained on the new coach's staff in a non-coaching role?
