The PGA Tour filed a countersuit against the LIV Golf Invitational Series this week, accusing the new Saudi Arabian-backed league of trying to induce top golfers to breach their contracts with the Tour by claiming that the Tour couldn’t enforce them,
Tour players are under contract with the tour?

Yeah I find this interesting myself.
Do they go into any details about this?

Players have to join the Tour.
But I don't understand what the contract is.

It's a compulsory counterclaim. If they didn't bring it in the answer to the complaint then they'd waive it down the road. Likely a loser but might as well throw it in for now. Can be used as leverage for a settlement but since this is an anti-trust case then not sure how that would factor in.
Also the counterclaim can be used to promote discovery that was outside of the bounds of LIV's initial claims.

They pay a fee and sign a contract with the tour about tv rights and other things. Not sure what the entire contract states but I bet a breach of it because of LIV has probable cause to sue.

Part of the contract states that you must get approval to play non tour tournaments. I guess by getting the players to join LIV they are causing them to break the contract. Just a guess.

Wouldn’t the PGA expelling the golfers who signed LIV contracts negate that argument?

Seems like all of the LIV Players have dropped out of the lawsuit.
That would seem to damage LIV claims ?
Of course I don't put anything past a judges rulings. Common sense doesn't rule the day any more.

There is a reason they waited until they hit a tee shot to tell them.

I don’t think so. That would be the consequence after the breach. I am just spitballing here. I am pretty much over the whole thing at this point.

No they haven't. Easily verifiable with 15 seconds of research
You were quick to indict the LIV guys as bad guys for bringing a lawsuit yet its OK for the Tour. Your throat has to be sore by now

Fair enough, I suppose. To me it just shows how butthurt the PGA is. I’m not sure why they, PGA, believes they rule golfers throughout.

Davis Love was nice and said hello to Bopper one time in passing. Good enough reason for me

Golfers are a different breed. Bopper would be able to tell you the barometric pressure while he fluffed a 7 iron on hole 12 at Whatever Country Club in 1982 on Christmas Eve, but may forget a kids birthday.

Unfortunately my wife had a medical emergency surgery right after we married and we were never able to have kids.
I have accomplished many things in this life, but not being able to have a child with my beautiful wife crushed my heart.
So I would never miss a birthday.

Sorry to hear that. Did you consider adoption?

You could adopt Mingo, he’s probably an orphan.
