Woods off deck

Every once in a while I crush my 5 wood off the deck and it’s amazing. The other times I top it or scoop up turf.
For a while I just took it out of my bag but when I hit it well it’s really a thing of wonder.
What are some tips for getting good contact ?

Don't try to hit up on it off the deck.
But don't fit too far down on it either

Maintain posture….don’t let your head move up or down until after you hit the ball.
Consistent ball position.
Consistent ball position.

There’s a good video I watched about woods off the deck. Simple solution was to relax and focus on a smooth swing. Most of the time when you’re hitting a wood off the deck, it’s a par 5 and you’re thinking “I need to hit this hard to get on the green in 2”, so your tensed up. If you let the club do the work and focus on just making good contact, you’ll have better success.

This is the perfect advice. If you have to gas a 5w. Pull a 3w. If you have to murder a 3w, lay up.
“Smooth it” is my swing thought with a fairway wood

When you hit it thin or fat there's too much weight on your back foot.
Put a teeing the ground an inch in front of the ball with the head of it just barely above the grass. At impact feel like you're heavy on the front foot and hit the tee after impact.

Any time you top a ball with any club you looked up or came up.
Get a bucket of balls. At the range and just easy swing hitting ball. Make sure your head stays up on top of shoulders. Do not tilt head way back or lean. Keep head inside your back foot. Arms must swing freely. Do not move you body with arms. Arms come through head stays behind ball and when you strike ball. Then you come in behind it with follow. Go watch every person you can and one will hit the light bulb and you will understand. I would suggest watching someone teaching a good female golfer. You can see all the moves I am talking about. Lots of time a good male swings to hard or fast and you will not see the move I am talking about. Also flat feet get off your toes.

It's not a tee shot so do not make the same swing as if you had it teed up. My best strikes with fairway woods and hybrids of the deck is a descending blow slightly coming across to get a nice high cut.

Keep your head still.
Know what the world's best have in common? Their head doesnt move.
At impact, its pretty much were it started.
Thats the key to solid contact.

The only FW I can hit consistently is the OG RBZ and I think it’s because it feels lite.
My swing thought with it is “just swing fast enough to finish the swing” and for whatever reason, it works

Best clubs in my bag 3 wood 5 wood. I have very upright swing and have always made great contact with those clubs. And I hit driver off deck at last once a round. Always a power cut always w great confidence

Oh yeah?
Show me a video of a player who's head moves dramatically during the swing.
I was only a PGA teaching pro for a decade. I may not know what Im talking about.

Make contact between the fairway and the club and swing down on it to get it to rise

Moving the ball to the middle of my stance really helped me
