80’s were the greatest time period of all time

This is non debatable... Everything from music to quality of life was 10 times better than the clusterfrick we live in today... You can call me an old head or anything you want but nothing compares to what we had back in the day. Nothing like rolllin’ around in a car with an 8 trac blaring some Egyptian Lover or Nucleus. Couldn’t beat those times.

I split my your between the 80's and 90's, but I want to live in the 60's and early 70's, from a freedom aspect.

I remember 8 tracks and I remember Egyptian Lover.
I don't remember 8 tracks of Egyptian Lover.

Too much bush in the 80's.

Agreed, the 80s were awesome. I never suspected that it would all go to shite so soon.

Breakdancing gave us the most athletic, physically panty dropping, and cooridnation dance ever, well that isn't ballet.

90s were cool AF but like the edgy bad attitude little brother of the 80s.

Did he mean cassette tape?

Hands down the best decade. But those albums were on cassettes. We'd blast some Jam On It and the On the Nile tape in our Walkmans.
DYK... EL and Too Live Crew played a concert in Lafayette in 87?

The 80's was a colorful time full of characters and wonderment, which was amazing for younger kids, but the 90's was about as live and let live as it got for older teenagers and college kids.
Basically, the 80's was Back To The Future, and the 90's was Pulp Fiction.

it seemed like a very positive time, overall. Wasn't perfect, but there was an unbridled optimism and pop culture reflected it. Michael J Fox with that show, family ties I think? Where he was a hardcore USA-loving Reagan supporter and his parents were liberal hippies.
Would such a show even be allowed to exist today?
A lot can happen in 40 years. Then next 40 years will probably be some dystopian hellscape.
We'll all look back on the good times before rolling blackouts, being taxed for 40% of a 60k salary like in the UK for 'free' healthcare, and a de facto one-party system that hates its citizens, and being able to post on TD without it affecting your social credit score, and probably the worst of all - the kids that will grow up thinking that shite is normal or acceptable.
Fun times.

The height of Mall Life. Being safe and free enough to be dropped off by parents almost anywhere and have a blast. Hit Morrow's Nut House for some gummy worms, browse through the dirty section at Spencer's then drop quarters in Alladin's Castle.
