This is the cream of the crop as far as car auctions in the states go. The car show started earlier this week but the big time cars are usually auctioned off on Friday and Saturday.
The event is in its 46th year now and is so big that it covers two weekends. This past weekend and this upcoming weekend. This past weekend was a preview day and automobilia being sold. I watched a little online but there hasnt been any cars being sold until today.
The tv schedule is
Tonight 4:30pm to 10pm on Velocity
Wednesday 5 to 10pm on Velocity
Thursday 5 to 10pm on Velocity
Friday 3 to 11pm on Velocity
Saturday 2 to 7pm on Discovery. 7pm to 11pm on Velocity
Sunday 1 to 6pm on Velocity.
You can also watch online on the website.
The best cars are in the Salon collection. Here is a link to them LINK Dont get me wrong, Friday night and other nights will have 100k+ cars all the way into the millions. I think the Salon is just the highest priced slots on the docket.
Here are a few of the Salon collection
Lot #1350 1970 PLYMOUTH HEMI 'CUDA
>
Lot #1358 1958 CHEVROLET CORVETTE CUSTOM CONVERTIBLE "EYE CANDY"
Lot #1366 1966 JAGUAR XKE SERIES I ROADSTER
Lot #1369 1969 CHEVROLET CORVETTE L88
Lot #1372 2011 FERRARI 458 ITALIA "JUSTIN BIEBER'S" lol
This reminds me of last years 3 Corvettes that were all Vin #1s. These two are sold as a package deal
Lot #1377 1967 PONTIAC FIREBIRD CONVERTIBLE VIN 001
Lot #1377.1 1967 PONTIAC FIREBIRD VIN 002
Lot #1378 1930 DUESENBERG J DUAL-COWL PHAETON
Lot #1380 1956 AUSTIN PRINCESS "JOHN LENNON'S"
Lot #1385 1934 PACKARD EIGHT TOURING 5/7-PASSENGER
Lot #1393 1963 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 327/360 SPLIT-WINDOW "FUELIE"
Ill try and update the thread as it goes along but usually people dont really tune in until the weekend. We also have a poster, nurse, who usually goes to the event and posts pictures of the cars while we are watching them on tv.

They have a lot of good looking Vettes. I just picked a few and left off the descriptions. Some have some very impressive specs and stories

I think about it all the time, and if I hit the lottery, I think the first extravagant car purchase I made would be a 1958 corvette convertible. I would love to drive around town on weekends with the top down. I just think the design of them were perfect.
But there are so many other cars I would love too.

I'm interested to see what they go for. They went through the roof last year.

It's fun to watch those guys lose their arse on 85% of their auction items.

I'm a Mopar guy to the bone but that "Eye Candy" Vette is unreal.

Even better is watching Richard's expression when his pro race teams crash

Actually isn't Firebird #1 and Firebird #2 Gas Monkey cars or did they just sell them on before restoring them? I know Gas Monkey found them and bought them.

I've been looking for a 70 Chevelle SS for about 3 years now. Came across the exact one I wanted about a week into searching at a great price but was too scared to pull the trigger because I was just getting into looking. I regret that decision everyday now because I have not found one since at a decent price.

Disappointed I didn't see a single IH Scout up for auction.

Yea I was surprised at some of the prices. When they came out, they were around 150k I think. Now theyre double that and some more. I guess thats the nature of the car game right now. Its definitely at a peak
