My grandfather was a heavy tank mechanic during WW2. Twice Patton came and stood atop the tank he was working on to address the men. I wish I knew more to the story but unfortunately he passed away when I was about 10 years old.

“They are Ivory handled. Only a pimp in a cheap New Orleans whorehouse would carry pearl handled pistols!”

One of my favorites. Our version down the bayou was, “ Frick , Fight or hold the light everybody got to do something “.

The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.

I was at an Estate Sale yesterday in Lake Oswego(Portland) that was the estate of his sisters descendants. They had books from Gen Patton's own library that were inscribed by his father and grandfather. Sadly not autographed by him. They also had a table from his library. You can peruse the pictures at Estatesale-Finder.com. Click on estate sales then go to the third estate sale Last Call Estate Sales. The books are the first pictures the table is the 8th and 16th pictures. The price on the books was $475 each and the table $4,000.

Fun fact: Patton participated in the 1912 Olympics. I believe it was held in Stockholm and was a decathlon type event. Not like the decathlon of today.

One of my personal heros.
If Patton had his way, communism would have been a footnote in history and we'd be watching video of his victory parade down red square in 1947.

Taken from us too soon, wish he could've stayed around to stomp out communism.

Wish we could bring back Patton, Eisenhower, etc and have them slap the shite out of folks like Milley and Lloyd Austin. What a disgrace those fat fricks are.

Before you give him to many props, read up on his actions against the bonus army.
As some WW2 troops were apt to say about Patton, "There goes old Guts and Glory, our Guts and His Glory."
A man can be a good leader and hard arse, but still take care of his troops, see one Mad Dog Mattis.

Ike and Dugout Doug were in on that Bonus March action. Don't single out Patton.

Yuup, I think Ike wasn't as hot to do it like the others though. From what I've read Patton and MacArthur wanted to lay the smack down.

My great uncle served under Patton. He was part of the tanks that helped to relieve the pressure we faced in The Battle of the Bulge.

Perhaps Patton's finest hour.

Another fun fact according to my grandpa, apparently Patton had a somewhat high pitched voice.

Was Mattis ever a commander in a real war-time situation?
The answer is "No"...
