Cadillac releases new Escalade EV with 450 miles of range

LINK
It’s larger than the popular ICE Escalade, which they will continue to sell. The EV version will be a separate model and will be updated next year. Cadillac apparently isn’t THAT committed to going full EV just yet.
The EV model is so large that the 24” wheels actually look fairly small.
This will be a lower volume vehicle that will cost between $130,000 and $175,000. It will be ideal for people who want to show their fancy pants status while also making a political statement. And of course it will also be marketed as a livery vehicle.

Yep. Pure status symbol like the regular Escalade.
I would consider the Escalade V series with its supercharged V8. But not this.

Guidos and spoiled oil field wives everywhere rejoice.

I’d bet a significant part of that price is to cover the cost of the massive battery that is required to make such a massive vehicle go 450 miles on a charge.

Objectively, it's a good looking vehicle, but no way in hell I'd ever buy one of those for $150k

IF you could convince them to get an EV….it would probably be a Tesla.

They’ll use our tax dollars to purchase contract these (at an inflated cost of $200k a piece) as vehicles to shuttle themselves around DC and pat themselves on the back about how green they are

I think it’ll have the same 200kWh as the Affliction edition Hummer. So, yeah that’s pretty pricey.

But can it tow my center console from BR to Destin and back 6 times a week during a hurricane?
Because I may want to do that and I want to feel secure.

The steering wheel looks upside down…

All fun and games until a little snot nose brat spills a drink all over the touch screen between the back seats

Huge EVs like this are a waste of limited materials.
We should be going full hybrid. Not full EV.

It better suck my dick and tongue the taint for $175,000. Still cheaper than my ex wife that did neither.
