July 2017 - Dubrovnik (5 nights)
Hot and crowded, but worth it.
We arrived here on a flight from Rome. The drive into the city from the airport was spectacular. I highly recommend the Game of Thrones tour, the city walls tour, and a day trip to the island of Lokrum. We also went to the top of Mount Srdj and saw Fort Imperial. It had a museum in it with lots of information and photos about the Serbian War in the early 90's.
We took a day trip to Kotor in Montenegro. It is only about 2 and 1/2 to 3 hours away. I'll post those pics separately. I highly recommend a tour guide for that.
Seafood was fantastic, fresh, and everywhere. I highly recommend the Dubravka 1836 restaurant. We did have a decent steak one night at Orhan.
Buza Bar outside the city walls was overrated and way too crowded during the day. We came back at night and had a pleasant experience.
Everyone spoke good English and we never had a language problem. The exchange rate with the kuna was favorable. We will go back in the winter time when it is less crowded.
