quote:LFG. LSU is winning it this year. Bookmark me bitches. LSU has the best pitching staff and batting order combo in all of baseball. Just need the bullpen to be good and we will win a lot of games.
with the NCAA baseball season less than a month away,
Edit: excuse my language. The wine is doing the talking now.

Looks like it might be a down year for Texas St. gonna miss Ortega. Will be up to pitching to step up.
Ryan Newman, Daulton Schuffield, Jalen Hubbard carry the hitting. Decent lineup with some returning players.

Artigues and Gozzo are good prospects but the roster is mostly empty. I don’t expect much from my Greenie
Neither of them are good prospects.
Artigues had a good year but he’s still got a lot to prove before anyone considers him a prospect.
Gozzo is dogshit. Not good at anything. Worst SS at Tulane since as long as I can remember
ETA: Tulane shouldn’t be ranked behind UNO/Nicholls. That’s ridiculous
Tulane was bad last 2 seasons but played really tough schedules. They wouldn’t finish at the bottom of the Southland like UNO does every year

Artigues is probably Tulane’s best position player for this year.. I never said either of them were top prospects or anything.
There’s a case to be made for Artigues for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised though if his numbers come down this year, he had the highest BABIP on the team last year.
We’l Have to agree to disagree on Gozzo. He’s been objectively bad on offense and IMO his defense is average at best.

Tulane is pretty fricking bad in baseball... we’ve been routinely losing to the UNO’s of the world. Besides UCONN, Houston, and East Carolina the AAC isn’t that good either.
Check Tulane’s RPI from the last two years which were down years for Tulane and compare it to UNO and Nicholls.
Tulane was like 87, UNO in the 140’s and Nicholls in the 180’s.
Tulane was way better than both of them last year.
UCF is good and Wichita had a good year too in the AAC but Tulane played a great Out of conference schedule. Ole Miss, Fullerton etc.

Tulane’s RPI is actually better than I thought it was.. The OOC schedule is good again this year even without LSU. I guess I’ve been really down on Jewett and the program.
In reality, they probably don’t suck as much as I think they do.
We also lost Grant Witherspoon, who actually is a pro prospect. Obviously a huge loss

I can’t blame you, Jewett took over a good situation and has really done a poor job and to make matters worse he comes off as a buffoon

Can’t wait to be sitting at the Tigue with a cold 22oz soon

Northwestern State (38-24) - NSU was picked to finish near the bottom of the Southland conference in 2018. The Demons proceeded to finish 3rd and win the conference tournament, clinching a regional appearance. You might wonder why I have them ranked so highly, simply put Northwestern State can ball. Solid pitching (3.41 team ERA) and a veteran presence (14 seniors) should lead to another good season.
Let's get it on, Demons!

1. LSU (39-27) - A well-oiled machine stacked with talent, LSU is ranked #1 in Collegiate Baseball. The Tigers bring back 6 starters from an explosive lineup and the return of All-American Eric Walker from Tommy John surgery will solidify the weekend rotation with Hess and Hilliard. LSU also has a reliable bullpen and should get contributions from an excellent recruiting class. The expectations are CWS or bust for the Tigers
Hilliard won’t be part of the weekend rotation. I expect him to be a big part of the bullpen tho if he can shake off the arm soreness

My 3 predictions:
1. LSU goes to the CWS finals this year.
2. I think the Robichaux ULL era is over with. I don’t think the Cajuns will be that good anymore like they were a few years ago.
3. ULM and Tulane will surprise some people this year. They won’t be a special team or anything but they could sneak up on some people this year

Winston, do you attend many TXST games? I bought a mini-bundle or whatever last year, for ULL, Rice, and UT. Considering doing that again this year.

If Gunner is back to his old self we could have a great Friday Saturday duo if Dalton Horton (TCU transfer) lives up to his potential. A lot of what ifs.
Does anyone know if Orynn Veillon is eligible immediately after transferring from UNO?
