I wonder if he's going to contend with Jay Bruce's first wk in the majors.

quote:

In his first full week in the majors, he batted .577 (15-for-26), with 3 home runs, 3 doubles, and 9 singles in addition to 6 bases on balls. The 3 home runs came in 3 consecutive days for Bruce, with his first being a walk-off homer. He also scored 12 runs, and batted in 7 more runs.

Swings before Dempster even throws the ball due to his waggle, and still hits the ball 450 ft.

For real, 1-4 with a walk.

Why stop there. How about 3 home runs in his first 2 at bats.

Ok, while i don't disagree with this im very curious as to how big this sample size is, and from where this judgement is being made.

He's played 1 major league game. How many minor league games?

Again, I'm not saying it isn't the case, I'm more interested in how much has been seen of this kid to make that bold of a statement.

I'll throw out a comparison out there so just take it for however you wanna take it.

In Pujols last Minor League season when he was 20, he walked 46 times and struck out 47 times. Great ratio for someone that young that you hardly ever see

In Heyward's last Minor League season at 19, he walked 51 times and struck out 51 times

Will this continue in the big leagues? I believe so but time will tell. He's still really young
