Raiders killed Jamarcus

Any LSU fan knew Jamarcus was a first round talent but nowhere near a top 10 pick. The Raiders fell in love with his combine videos and well he flopped.
It's not Jamarcus fault. He should have been the ideal guy to sit for a few years behind a vet to learn before starting in the NFL.

It’s a little bit his fault.

Jamarcus killed himself. He got paid and didn’t want to put the work in. He was lazy and worried about partying.

Agreed but I feel like it would have been an entirely different story if he went anywhere else.
Going to the Raiders as a young qb is a death sentence like going to the browns.

Sorry, but yes it is.

I can see your side but I feel better about Burrow going to the Bengals than the raiders or browns. Bengals will rise again

Not many would have succeeded with that Oakland team
But yes Russell had a lot of issues
He needed to be with a better organization to have a chance

I just think it's rough to label him one of the biggest busts of all time. It's not like he was great at LSU so it's more on the Raiders to misjudge talent.

Diehl appeared on his weekly radio program "Football Sunday with Marc Malusis & David Diehl" for WFAN in New York on Sunday morning and revealed that Raiders coaches used to give the quarterback blank tapes in order to see whether he was actually studying game film.
According to Diehl, Oakland coaches didn't believe Russell was studying tapes so they gave him blank copies in order to see if he'd falsely claim to having watched them. The lineman said that Russell returned to the Raiders' facility the next day claiming he studied blitz packages from the game footage.

No Jamarcus just wasn’t a good NFL QB and that’s all there is to it.

Still one of the most bizarre stories. Who does that?
