Disclaimer: I pulled this from another team message board (outside of Tigerdroppings), so I don't know how accurate this is.

Here are the 2019 SEC men's basketball head coaches salaries. It's crazy that Calapari makes almost 2.5 times as much as the next SEC coach. Also based on this season, Avery Johnson & Frank Martin are way overpaid, while Rick Barnes, Bruce Pearl & Ben Howland appear to be way low in the league.

Will Wade should get a raise next year if he keeps the ball rolling into March Madness.

John Calipari, Kentucky $7,435,376
Cuonzo Martin, Missouri 3,000,000
Avery Johnson, Alabama 2,800,000
Frank Martin, South Carolina 2,800,000
Mike White, Florida 2,710,000
Bryce Drew, Vanderbilt 2,700,000
Will Wade, LSU 2,500,000
Rick Barnes, Tennessee 2,500,000
Mike Anderson, Arkansas 2,450,800
Bruce Pearl, Auburn 2,400,000
Billy Kennedy, Texas A&M 2,300,000
Ben Howland, Mississippi. St. 2,050,000
Mark Fox, Georgia 2,000,000
*Andy Kennedy, Ole Miss 1,925,000

EDIT - * Oops, my bad, That's what I get for copying. I'm a dumbass for that.

Will Wade has been compensated really well for someone his age. He will continue to get paid really well. He has yet to accomplish anything and while I personally love Will Wade and the job he's done IDK why people are so transfixed on paying this man right now.

LSU's compensation package had much much more than just 2.5m/year. They allowed Wade to hire upwards of 5 new employee's, promises to build new facilities, as well as other support staff. Wade'd top priority was not and still is not short term gains as much as long term longevity in the industry and LSU has and will continue to offer him a package that suits that desire.

Well, for starters, two of the coaches listed aren't currently their listed school's head coach.

There’s nothing wrong with his salary right now

I agree South. I was actually quite surprised to see CWW listed at #7 in the league right now. He must put some skins on the wall, before ant changes are made.

Calipari has had the most success hence he is paid the most but honestly you can argue he is a bit overpaid if the next guy down is $3M then he's nearly $7.5M. He's won only 1 title at UK in the previous 9 seasons, but also has been to 4 total final fours and has made the tourney 8/9 seasons, again, way more success than the other coaches.

I dont particularly like Calipari's formula (get as many 1 and dones every year you can) and I think it hurts him more than he would admit. Hard to say it doesnt lead to a good bit of success though, but at UK you're judged by titles, not NCAA tourney appearances...and that's where he's let down a bit. With the recruiting success he's had and the amount of deep tourney runs he's had, you honestly would have suspected more than 1 title in 9 seasons, might end up being 1 in 10 seasons because I just dont see them as a title team this year either.

As far as Wade goes, if he has success he will get a raise, but understand the dude is in his mid 30s getting paid $2.5M at a big school for very very little on his career thus far...so he's sitting tight at the moment. Allow him to make the tourney and do some damage before we give him another mil per year.

Not really considering they’ve been the most consistent team in the SEC since he’s been there. Blue bloods will always pay big, especially for a coach who has one a championship, consistently wins the league and produces NBA talent over and over again.

That's a lot of dough for one title, a bunch of choke jobs, and every recruiting asset available
