What bothers me about the Bama game is the following scenarios

These scenarios could happen & none are good for LSU:

1) we beat Bama, (no matter if it’s by 1 or 20) and move to #1.... but unlike when we lost to UF at #5 and dropped to #13 (even with our SOS and having defeated 2 ranked teams; dropped 8 spots), Bama will only drop to 5 or 6..... book it (even with a worse SOS, ranked wins, etc.)

This keeps them close enough to get into the playoff

2) we lose or Bama by a close score, possibly well under the spread.... LSU drops out of the top 10 ....again, even with our SOS, and playing Bama the closest anyone has, leaving us no shot for the playoff.

3) we just get boat raced — which is bad enough.

Either way, all the powers that be WANT a Bama in the playoffs..... and they’ll get it....even if LSU is the TRUTH come 2 weeks from now

If Bama doesn’t win the SEC they won’t make it in. Even the ESPN talking heads were discussing how bad their schedule is.

ACC champ is a lock
SEC champ is a lock
B12 champ is a lock (Texas vs Oklahoma 2)

Notre Dame is a lock if they win out.
Michigan is a lock if they win out.

If those last two don’t happen, it’s possible. But I don’t see Notre Dame losing.

Uh, I cannot agree with this guy more. How in the world is winning a game bad for us against Bama this year?

Still a lot of “IFs” there. 2011 is still very fresh in our heads

Bama is 100% getting in if their only loss of the year is LSU.

If LSU, Clemson, Notre Dame and Michigan all win out, Alabama will not make the playoffs.

If Bama got in as a non conf champ again it would just get the narrative going even more that the deck is stacked in Bamas favor. With that narrative could come reporters looking at what allows bama to have such a stacked deck outside of coaching.

You’re missing the point entirely.... for once, we want to beat Bama and it TRULY effect them....

2011 and last year showed Bama doesn’t have to win the SEC and still gets a chance to win..... no other team could’ve done this

Yes, beating Bama is sweet - but if they face you again in the NCG because they got in via the backdoor, then 2011 and 2017 happen again....

If we beat them, Bama needs to fall at least as much as we did after UF..... 8 spots....which would make it SUPER hard for them to get back in....as their SOS would not be as good as us and 5 other teams

I've been saying this for a few weeks now. If LSU beats bama and wins out, they will have to beat bama again in the playoffs. It's hard to beat a team twice in the same season (in college).

Better root for UF to best UGA. I’d love another shot st them in ATL. UGA, not so much.

“THE EYE TEST” is always their ace in the hole. Then ESPN will have that little bastard on continuously politicking. Same shite, different year.

They won't even drop that far. When LSU beat them in BDS in 2011, they fell a grand total of one spot. It was a joke. But you are correct about one thing...they drop LSU out of the top ten if we lose. The powers that be definitely want Alabama in the CFP and will make every excuse for them if, by chance, they lose to us.

There's only 4 spots in the playoff, dude. If my calculations are correct, you got 5 locks right there.

The difference this year is there is some real bama fatigue and a narrative that is building steam around some perceived biases within the power 5 conferences. This is where there is already a small victory in this Devin white situation, the national media is starting to pick up on that there could be a story here that is juicy for their ratings which is what they care about.

People who who can think are realizing, Saban is a great coach, but this is a bit much.... every year they get a #1 class, with absolutely NO shinnanegans (NCAA: “nothing to see here...go about your business”). They get the BEST schedules (SEC office). They get their own people on the field and in the review booth for officiating games (SEC office). They also have a key person in the NCAA, should anything go bad....Saban’s Ole War Skul buddy, M.E.

There are BIG programs that have a LOT of national sway: ND, Ohio St., Texas, USC,....but the one that has gotten the lion’s share of the “good breaks” over the last dozen years is Bama

Even if LSU wins out..... all Bama will need is one of the other top 3 teams to lose, and they’re IN!
