So let's say it's a 3-5 year show cause...

I'm of a like mind with:
"Wade took a completely apathetic program and led them to their most consistent period of winning in 30 years." -Alt26
Arguing against that statement is folly - it is fact - and finding the kind of Coach to maintain and build on that base will be tough.
Even without SW's preference for "Big Game", the kind of guys being bandied about are Drew, Cronin, and other top of the line types that have proven they can do what WW did as far as developing a winning program.
Which leads me to the question: After a 3-5 year show cause - would we want to take WW back?

That is definitely the plan

Come on man. I’m a huge Wade guy. But posts like these are just gonna make people shite on him even harder. We all gonna have to let it go eventually. Basketball is gonna be tough for 5 years or so.

And yet no players actually got payed…according to the letter from the Admin saying that no student-athletes are guilty of anything.

UGA will hire some dope and he'll suck, and in 3 years Will Wade will be coaching there, or somewhere similar.

We literally have the dumbest fans on the planet.
Wade basically just destroyed LSU Basketball for the foreseeable future and you want to bring him back? For the love of God make it stop.

WW's actions can't be defended. So it's no fun for the a-hole/troll when everybody understands that it's all WW's fault. They've prolly moved on to baseball.
Part of my point is WW is gonna be very successful somewhere. Hell, he's proved it in his 30's.
I'm saying perhaps rehiring him should be considered. I'd have to be for it after Brady covers the show cause if it's not more than 5 or 4 years. Look at the alternatives.

Would I want Wade back? Sure. But he isn't ever coming back to LSU.
The hope now is that: (1) Scott Woodward can lure a well established coach as he has done in his past 4-5 hires (dating back to A&M); (2) said coach can rebuild the team very quickly through the transfer portal and HS recruiting (See: Tommy Lloyd at Arizona; TJ Otzelberger at Iowa St. - 20-12 this year and NCAAT appearance after ISU went 2-22 last season and lost almost its entire roster after the season); (3) The NCAA sanctions are limited with respect to LSU
The bad news: The upward trajectory of the program over the last 5 years is presumably over. That's frustrating given the results of the previous 30 years.
The good news: College basketball programs can QUICKLY be turned around with solid recruiting...both in the transfer portal and HS. Alabama and Arkansas went from 18-16 programs to top 3 seeds in the NCAAT in two years. LSU went from 2-16 in SEC play to 16-2 in two years. Auburn and Kentucky had losing records last season. They are national championship contenders this season.

Well, they just hired Florida's coach who drug them back to mediocrity after Donavan left so....

I like them to cut em down.

I’d say 10 at minimu based on recent same type penalties.

He's also the one that built it up to the point where we actually CAN be destroyed! A major drop off or some kind of probation wouldn't have meant shite under the last couple coaches because we weren't prominent enough to feel any pain!
Dude fricked up bad but he's going to take his recruiting act somewhere else and end up in final fours if he recruits like he did here.
I'm not saying it will happen but I would welcome him back.

5 years? Maybe if we make a shitty hire or the NCAA hits us with unprecedented sanctions.

They are my pick as well.
Lloyd, who was at Gonzaga for almost 20 years, makes the case for Baylor's associate HC, Jerome Tang, who has been there for 19 years.

No. No chance for Wade to come back to the rubble he will leave behind. I like Wade and think he's a great coach and may have a decent future still ahead of him depending on how this all shakes out. But it would be way too much for him personally and for the university and basketball program to revisit this later down the road. He is done at LSU forever, likely done in the SEC entirely, and possibly even done in major division 1 ball for a good while.

Not gonna happen. We probably helped ourselves by firing Wade. Woodward and Emmert have common relatives by marriage. I’m sure Woodward discussed this with Emmert to gain insight on what the NCAA will do before he fired Wade. And Woodward didn’t hire Wade so he probably has no interest in bringing him back.
On the other hand, I think Wade gets at least 5 years and maybe 7-10 of show cause. He’s probably headed to the NBA as an assistant on the Kelvin Sampson rehab plan or overseas.
