Some of y’all are saying he needs to go, but I ask why? I think he can make an assistant coaching change that would help on the offense. What he has done with the limited funds and facilities is impressive. Sign him for 5 more years and give him the facilities he needs to succeed.

Name a coach in NCAA history that has reestablished a program like he has and met the expectations of the fans. All had prominent programs/funding before taking over. Coach K? Cal?

All in all… lay off the pipe.

Wade doesn’t need to go. As you said, he needs an assistant change and to start funneling some NIL money to a key player or two to stay one more year to make a serious run. He always seems like he’s one player away from making a deep tourney run.

So because this year's team is not all that great offensively it just erases the fact that Wade has had really really good offenses in previous years?

Now he all of a sudden can't coach offense I guess.

Wade didn't forget how to coach offense ffs.

This team was going to be heavily dependent on Adam Miller to carry the load offensively. That would have given Pinson, Days, even Eason more room to do their thing without feeling or having the pressure of scoring 15 to 20 a game.

Offensively Coach Wade has had great teams here. It will be okay.

Before everyone laughs at me bringing up next year, it will be great getting Miller back, having a seasoned Murray, and getting 1 or two more scorers. Next year will look more like a classic Wade team offensively.

That said, our race isn't run yet. We still have to score and win 2 out of the last 3 games.

People saying Wade needs an offensive x o assistant have always said that about him defensively. It will be alright.

He needs to funnel some of his money to a College Basketball Offense 101 course.

I don’t think he needs to go. What frustrates me is the team makes the same mistakes over and over. There doesn’t appear to be any teaching or correction of fundamentals such as blocking out on rebounds, not making 40 feet cross court passes, etc. There is no game situation awareness or discipline. The mistakes they were making in game 1 are still happening game 28.

Lsursb, I couldn’t have said it better.

I’m not a wade hater, I’m a wade criticizer. And I’m puzzled with his coaching. He recruits guys that are rated high in most ranking systems and coveted by other top schools, but they don’t develop well fundamentally.

I hate to use the word playground ball because there is structure in the offense at times. But sometimes you don’t need to dribble through your legs or behind your back to get to a spot. Sometimes you need to make a bounce pass instead of a lazy one handed pass. It’s the little things that frustrate me, particularly when I look at other disciplined teams and they make it look easy by using the same fundamentals you remember being taught at a basketball camp.

It also frustrates me that Wade knows and explains what the problems are but he can’t seem to get his teams to fix them. And there’s only 3 reasons that could be. He is either recruiting players incapable of understanding, not providing the right kind or amount of discipline to players who keep making the same mistakes, or he is just not a good communicator of what he wants from them.

In the 2020-2021 season LSU averaged 81.8 points per game.

In the 2019-20 season LSU averaged 80.5 points per game.

In the 2018-19 season LSU averaged 80.4 points per game.

I think WW has proven that he can coach offense.

This year’s team is averaging 72.8 points per game. But they are giving up 62.2 points per game.

Wade told the world this team would look different. He knew he didn’t have a scorer. Maybe Miller was going to be that guy. I don’t know.

Billy Donovan
Sean Miller
Brad Stevens

Wade doesn't deserve to be fired. But his resume doesn't support the bouquets so many throw his way.

He's plateaued and our fane base is complacent so we'll keep him. Get great recruits and make the first round of the tourney. Rinse and repeat.

It wasn’t that long ago that we weren’t making the tournament. Now people are upset because we don’t advance as far as they would like. I define that as progress in the right direction.

But yes, the challenge now is to build on what we’ve accomplished and do the things we need to do to get to the Sweet 16 or beyond on a regular basis. We have to do better than we’ve done to do that.

Cam Thomas was a Uuuuuge reason why we were good on offense last year. We need more pure shooters and he has to revamp his offensive philosophy if he wants to take it to the next level IMO.

WW has always had a good offensive team this year tide has changed. This is best defensive team he has ever coached. I look for him to blend the two in next year or two. Looking for even better results in next year or two.

I’m Curious about how many of his teams here you think have only made it to the first round?

Fair. But that's usually what happens to 8 seeds.

Coach K?

There was a huge push to axe Coach K after his third year at Duke. FACT. Go look at Coach K's record his first 3 years at Duke, he barely made it past that year....two losing seasons his first three years and he took over a program 2 years removed from playing for a national title and Duke was 24-9 the year before K took over. He did not make the tournament until his fourth year and did not make a Final Four until his sixth year.
