Why Would a Conference Want a Team that didn't want to be there?

To me this whole day is just desperation. I still think A&M to the SEC is reality.

Baylor and the smaller Big 12 schools see the writing on the wall. If A&M leaves, OU and Okie State more than likely follow. Once that happens, the Big 12 is dead.

More likely than not, Baylor and these smaller schools will end up in non-AQ conferences when all the shuffling around is over with.

Here's the ironic thing: by holding A&M (and essentially Oklahoma) hostage, all Baylor is doing is making the situation worse. A lot of OU people are pissed tonight because they feel they are being held against their will by the Texas schools. Some of those pissed Sooner fans might just be very influential alumni.

The smaller B12-2 schools have no problem with fricking over someone else in order to save their own skin.

There will be some kind of dramatic compromise.

Add another seven to the point spread on all of Baylor's conference games.

Aggies might hang a hundred on them.

it's no longer about what the "conference" wants. Even with Fred Rogers' hand up his arse, King Friday's wields more power over the Kingdom of Make Believe than Dan Bebee does over the big12. He has zero control over his constituents at this point in the game, they are running roughshot over him and doing whatever they want and whatever they feel is in their own best interest. It really is a fend-for-yourself Axis & Allies-type atmosphere.

and Baylor openly admits they'd rather be in a conference that nobody is happy and one where no one trusts each other rather than face the alternative.

It's just getting ugly now, and every school is doing their best to position themself for least amount of collateral damage. It reminds me of that Games of Thrones show

This whole ordeal puts on display the whole crapshow that was previously the Southwest conference...take whats going on now and add a couple more texas schools and more sets of political sides.....I mean baylor is suing over the exact same stuff that got them there....they left tcu and UH for dead

Did masters free slaves because they didn't want to be there?
