good football program, very good basketball program, SEC type folllowing, and they would jump immediately on an offer.

WVU>>>Mizzou imo, but behind VT.

They are probably the easiest "get" out there, and they fit in many ways. Coming from a shaky conference, from a brand new state that is culturally southern. No recruiting overlap, plus they're closer to Big10 territory.

The biggest problem is it will bring almost no new TV viewers which, like it or not, is the #1 driver. Also, I'd imagine that WVU would be about as good as Kentucky in the SEC, at best, so you could argue that they'd actually weaken the conference.

I was in Charleston monday and tuesday doing some Irene relief work with the WV ANG. Most folks really want to see WVU move to the SEC. They think it would help get recruits from Ohio and Virginia. Plus, I heard Jesco White really wants to watch the Neers in the Swamp.

I would hate to see WVU in the SEC. They are a mediocre football team in a poor state with no markets that would help the conference from a recruiting or television standpoint. I believe the school is below average academically and their fans are terrible. I went to the Auburn-WVU game a few years back and Morgantown is a sh*thole.

WVU would water down the conference and doesn't bring anything of value to the table.

I'd rather see VT, FSU, Clemson, hell even Missouri or TCU.

How can anyone forget the couch burners? Their fanbase is a nightmare. Road trip to Morganhole and the Blue Lot is dangerous.

TCU.

I wouldn't mind TCU… they have built a respectable program and are the one mid major I don't hate because they don't run their mouths.. they just get it done on the field.

I think with the texas recruiting, and being in the SEC, TCU would be a solid program in 5 years.

SCH21--Serious question. Don't the WV fans travel well? I remember hearing that they did.

very well, we are like an SEC school just a bit far north.

Most WV natives are displaced fans who live all over the country b/c to be honest the opportunities for career advancement there are pretty limited.

they won't take kindly to "traitors"

I would pass just on the couch burning alone, but that's just me

I thought I heard right.

Hmm. I still prefer VT (better natural rival for A&M) or NC State (state is fast growing, get growing media markets). But I know they've been above average in both football and basketball; SEC definitely needs to improve in the latter.

OK, you've convinced me to at least throw them in the mix.
