Get over yourself TexasTiger, this is a freaking internet message board. All people do here is respond to comments.

While we're in the game of quoting anybody from anywhere, anybody from anywhere knows that the most vocal Texas fans tend to be those that haven't ever sniffed a college campus, much less have a degree from Texas. They also like the Lakers, Yankees, Cowboys and Lebron. Oh, and they like the Mavericks now too. There is never any way of verifying who they truly root for because they just throw away the shirt and move on to the next front running team.

I find it very rich when they accuse A&M fans of being jealous of their status in society as a die hard Longhorn.

Could be something about projecting ones own insecurities.

That applies to schools that people want to be a part of. See USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, Miami (in the 80's), and in some instances...Oklahoma. I work with people who went to Texas A&M-CC, Texas A&M-International,etc...and they claim to be aggies.

So people who are Texans aren't allowed to like the Cowboys or Mavs? I was born and raised a Cowboy, if we suck so bad can I still be accused of being a bandwagon fan? Only time I rooted for the Mavs was against the Heat...so no. I think NBA fans in Texas are pretty well split on the 3 teams.

Who is the diehard Longhorn? I am just saying I think it's odd how much ags bash the Horns when historically, the programs are not that close. My run-ins with aggie fans usually revolve around them talking about the glory days of Slocum. When I mentioned the Cotton Bowl, he went back to the series in the 90's...meaning he was bragging about 15 year old wins.

Not mine. I have my degree from my school...I just think the aggie hatred for UT (and their constant mentioning of Baylor) is the epitome of little brother syndrome.

TxTiger. You are completely wrong. Maybe your statements hold true in Corpus.

Ags continually have to claim to not be obsessed because we are continually accused of it by horns. Doesn't mean it's true.

I'm not sure why as a Tiger, you feel the need to defend Texas and knock A&M. I don't understand a lot of the under 30 LSU crowd

I should have been more clear in my response, it was actually more directed at Hook Em than anyone else regarding his Anyone from Anywhere statement.

Baylor is being mentioned now because of the laughable mis-information they are spreading to prevent the move to the SEC. The only thing I find troubling with Baylor is how anyone can justify paying that much money for an education that is run of the mill. It's not bad, but I can't believe anyone that qualifies for in-state tuition pays a premium over Texas, A&M, etc. to go there.

The biggest thing I have a beef with is the use of terms like "majority" of Aggie fans. Those that post on message boards are a very small minority, and unfortunately the idiots seem to have the most time on their hands.

I think most Longhorns, Aggies, Tigers, etc. spend more time working, with family and other things than to give more than a passing thought to a rival school.

I'm ready for the season to kick-off so we can talk about actual football.

This is why people accuse ags ofbeing obsessed. They latch on to things. Someone reppin' CS and continually ripping CC is pot calling the kettle black. This is your 3rd or 4th reference to CC. You act like trashing Corpus means alot to me. Once again, our city is pretty bad. We have a non-progressive city council, a lazy mentality among citizens, and the worst roads in modern civilization. But I have a steady job with a paycheck that takes care of my wants and needs...so what do I care?

Arky fans were bad at this. Auburn fans can be. But you don't see Florida fans shitting on FSU in EVERY post. You don't see LSU fans shitting on Tulane or Ole Miss in EVERY post...except for the rant.

If you ignore it, it may go away.

Ask questions, and you may get it. I have had about 5 or 6 immediate family members graduate from UT. Needless to say, when you are raised in that type of household, it will rub off. I hav attended games at DKR and Kyle, I have some other family members that are aggies. Now that I bucked the trend and went east, it's become a friendly rivalry.

However, I admire the UT athletics program. Great facilities. Great coaches. Always progressing into the future...not afraid to take leaps of faith so-to-speak...and frankly, they don't seem as WEIRD as aggies. Sure, Austin is a piece of shite IMO, but CS is the COMPLETE opposite. Baton Rouge is somewhere in between, with alot more murders.

I am not trashing a&m. They have their own things, and they stick to their traditions...albeit, I think they are a little unorthodox. But why should my opinion piss anybody off on here?

I just think that after living in Texas as long as I have, A&M constantly has to try to put UT down, whereas UT's arrogant attitude makes them come across as if they do not care.

Take it FWIW.

I think the most important question in all this is "If we let the Aggies into the SEC does that mean that TD will face an influx of UT fans?" ...and it seems that the answer is yes. I may have to rethink this whole A&M thing...

We've had a bunch as it is...but on the MSB they were relatively tame.

I didn't trash CC. I actually love Corpus.

And A&M as of recent has a better athletic program than Texas. More on field success. Now UTa circa 2005 was impressive. It was like UF 06/07/08 era or LSU 07ish.

Hopefully our football contunues to improve while maintaining our other sports successes

You must be from out of town.

Spend a couple of weeks here...

As of right now...yes. But if you encompass the last decade or so. Right now, TAMU is a bit higher. Baseball was a push, basketball a slight edge to Texas, WBB is TAMU, baseball a push, T & F to A&M, etc.

But looking at the program over the past several years, I still think UT holds a slight edge, but the sky is the limit for A&M right now.

Texas has had 12 losing seasons...ever. 105 winning season, 12 losing seasons.

Thanks for the list of "facts" and "tidbits," TexasTiger08. Aren't you the cat who just made the following comment in another thread:

Is it me, or are Ags similar to Hawgs in the fact that they are always trying to provide links, facts, or other tidbits of info to establish more credibility.
