is stay put. Add t.c.u. and Utah or some other school.
they keep all the money, virtually a lock for a b.c.s. bowl every year, Either OU or Texas will play for a n.c. every year.

I agree. Texas should just play coy and let those bolt that want to bolt. Then replace them with some 2nd rate schools from the MWC and CUSA and punch their yearly ticket to the BCS.

THE reason you don't here any talk about this from any "experts"* is because Texas has CLEARLY stated through back channels that the only person who could bring anything to the table in TV/Contract negotiations was NEBRASKA...they feel like staying would hurt them greatly and have no interest.
That's what you don't here more talk of keeping the big 12 together.
*experts = people who get paid and have NO effing clue on what will happen...a.k.a Kurt Herbshit

Texas would lose a lot of money if they put in scrubs into the Big XII (loss of tv money). Plus if the Big XII gets watered down too much it may lose its status as a BCS conf and lose its automatic bid.

Also for teams like Texas A&M they don't want to lose their spot in the sec if they wait.

If the schools of the BigXI really want to maintain the conference, the first step should be to immediately issue an invite to Boise State as a replacement for Colorado.
I think Boise would jump at the chance as it would give them potential BCS access which is what they have been wanting.
If Nebraska does indeed go to the eastern Big12, then invite TCU or Utah.

This isn't about getting to a BCS bowl every year. This is about TV money. The Big 12 could not get a TV deal comparable to what the SEC and Big 10 have. Therefore teams are leaving to cash in. This is not about football, academics, or anything else that is being said. It's about money and that's why the Big 12 is doomed.

Big east hasn't lost it's status.
The way the BXII is set up, The team on t.v. the most get the lion share of the money. they wouldn't need a billion dollar t.v. contract. If they get 75% of 30 million dollar deal (per year), they make over 20 million. no conference can offer that.
