Funny That bad arse Pac 10 strength of schedule has never in the past helped them against The SEC. Ask USC fans.

I love how a two Loss LSU team still had enough to get into the MNC, That’s because of playing in a strong SEC conference as opposed to playing in a weak arse pussy PAC 10 Conference

That's funny, Saturday you were saying that Texas didn't want to play LSU because they didn't want to increaser LSU's recruiting presence in Texas.

You don't see the difference? LSU beating A&M is meaningless to the recruits that Texas will target.

that's because every one had 2 loses, 1 loss WVU goes over LSU. LSU also had a SOS boost from VT in 2007.

This whole realignment mess is going to have long term political consequences in the state of Texas and this new attempt to save the Big 12-2 is a CYA move by Texas.....and an effective one. A&M will be the team which gives the Big 12-2 its death blow if they go to the SEC. There is no way to spin this otherwise.

bullshite. Everyone knows Texas wanted the Pac 10 and threw a hissy fit when A&M din't do exactly as they wanted. It would ave had NO effect on the rivalry game- many great rivals are in different conferences. Everyone know Texas is scred of A&M going to the SEC for one of two reasons:
1) The Pac 10 thought it was getting the whole state of Texas or TV money (they DO NOT want to compete with the SEC there)

2)They ar worried that increased revenue and visibility for A&M in the SEC will hurt Texas interest (it will)

quote:

Texas isn't concerned about an increased recruiting presence in Texas by the SEC. As long as Mack is the head coach in Austin, the Horns will always get a top tier recruiting class.

That's not the issue. Read above. Texas will still et strong classes, but if A&M gets strong classes as well they will not be an automatic win for Texas

quote:

Actually, if the SEC robs players from anyone, it will be OU and A&M so I say to the
SEC, "Welcome to Texas!"

The SEC already gets 5 or 6 of the top 10 recruiting classes in the country (Without a presence in Texas Alabama has had better classes than Texs since Nick Saban blew into town)

Yeah I'm sure the mighty Pac 10 is full of those douchebag. Washington State or Arizona would be great!

That's silly. Any additional exposure to Texas is great for the SEC. Saying it won't impact recruits Texas targets is just ludicrous.

Sure there is. Give up your own tv network and equal revenue sharing for the good of the conference. Problems solved.

This is an idiot's argument.

#1 A&M voted for the Big 12's revenue distribution method which rewards teams for having more national TV appearances

#2 The SEC allows teams to have their own local networks. Florida already has this. This is all that Texas wants. A&M will look silly leaving the Big 12-2 over Texas having its own network and moving to the SEC where UF has its own network.

You are putting playing A&m and playing the Horns on an equal level of prestige in regards to Texas high school kids.....you couldn't be more wrong.

Complete fantasy.

Completely agree. Even after MACK, Texas is untouchable, imho.

One thing I've learned in all this is what vindictive pricks Texas can be. The Aggies have been your whipping boy for a century, now they might want to do something that would be better for them and you guys want to pitch a hissy fit and stomp your feet and take your ball home.

the difference, is everyone gets an equal share of the pie, then you have local distribution rights. biiiig difference

Anyone who would want Texas in his conference is an idiot. Historically they have been nothing but trouble. Let them move to the PAC Whatever. They will fit in better with the flower children on the left coast.

I know there is already a tread dedicated to this topic, but i would LOVE to see Texas in the SEC.

that would be some awesome football. Id have to get more TVs!

I do believe Texas wants to be the king of the hill, which is why they chose the Pac10. The only regular competition would be USC (perennial top 10) and that conference offers money the Big 12 couldnt match until this week.

In the SEC, they couldnt be king of the hill, so they couldnt screw anything up really.

but the football each week would be incredible!

Texas isn't canceling the series because A&M is going to the SEC. Texas, and the other Big 12 schools going to the Pac 16 are all never playing A&M again in any sport because A&M gave their word and commitment that they would be going to the Pac 16 and then broke their word. Texas and other schools gave up on other opportunities (i.e. Big 10) based on what A&M committed to so the Aggies breaking their word is a big deal.

Basically, Drunkenstein thinks Texas is invincible. They will still get majority of the big recruits in Texas. This is true. But it is ridiculous to not think that A&M in the sec will attract more big recruits every year.

Look, A&M voted for this method of revenue distribution back in the 90s when they were playing better football. Now, they have gone in the s**t tank and they are upset about living up to what they agreed to......maybe A&M should just stop sucking?
