A WAC without Boise isn't attractive since Fresno and Hawaii aren't as great as they used to be.

Best case: CUSA offers Tech
Worst case: Tech has to beg CUSA

WAC only has like, what, nine teams left? If the CUSA does expand and takes Tech then I have to assume the WAC is going to die.

Rumor has it the WAC is considering adding teams from the FCS including Montana.

Karl Benson is saying the WAC is looking at teams like Montana, Sacramento St, and UC-Davis. None look attractive enough for Tech to stay in the WAC

Well if it doesn't die, it's certainly going to shite.

Only two teams with national prowess in the league were Boise State and Fresno State. Boise has bailed, taking every scrap of that league's legitimacy and they bring in FCS teams to accommodate.

Tech should bail, CUSA is overtaking WAC in the pecking order.

Its amazing how dilusional Tech fans are. CUSA would NEVER EVER offer Tech to join their conference. EVER.

Tech brings absolutely NOTHING to the table.

Have the WAC take a few of the Big XII leftovers.

CUSA should target Troy. Geographically perfect, and a definite up and coming program that has been a winner on every single level.

I doubt the Sun Belt would invited Tech back and even if they did Tech's pride might keep them from accepting an invitation

The problem with CUSA is that they seem more worried about t.v. market instead of how good the school is

Yeah its actually not that far fetched. CUSA considered Tech last time they expanded before they ultimately added UTEP. And that was when Tech hadn't had a good season, all of the facilities were complete shite and they had a complete jackass of an AD. Tech is within an hour of a city of 200,000 people. If Tech can become a presence in Shreveport, its not crazy to think they might be on CUSA's radar

The only schools that didn't want Tech were Southern Miss and Memphis

Well Memphis is a bunch of uppity assholes that think they're better than they are. They're gonna keep hoping that their run in basketball will get them to the big east but they're irrelevant now that Cal is gone.

And I think Tech is much more viable than they were a few years back. The academics are at an upper level and the new research campus will bring a lot more notoriety to university. Plus the athletic department is doing a lot to become more prominent in Shreveport.

another option, if Baylor gets left high and dry(if MWC doesnt want tthem), some type of reformation of a mid-major Southwest Conference

Baylor
SMU
Rice
Houston
Tulsa
La Tech
North Texas
UTEP

UT-San Antonio(starting program, 4th largest school in Texas, will play in Alamodome, Larry Coker as coach)

Texas State- going to FBS too, could be option

This conference would be more appealing to all these schools than being in CUSA. TV would be major stumbling block, but if all those school leave CUSA then networks will cancel any CUSA contracts anyway

I like it except replace Texas-San Antonio with Southern Miss, UTSA can always be added in the future & add Tulane

Southern Miss and Tulane will stay in CUSA as long as Memphis and UAB are there.
