The total population of SEC states is 50 million. Adding the state of Texas gives the SEC another 25 million.

It's really not that hard of a concept to grasp. The Houston and Dallas/Ft. Worth markets alone add millions of viewers

the markets don't really matter as much as the fanbase/dedicated viewers

A&M fans will be more interested in watching other SEC games, as opposed to Big 12 games

i don't know if a long history of the SWC/big8 will be erased overnight

you will still get all the people that watch now,

not true. you'll lose viewers from the replaced game

this kind of proves that it's not "markets" that drive the SEC viewership, no?

because everyone in the state of Texas will now watch SEC games

And you seem to be a full blown retard incapable of understanding that TAMU has a large dedicated fanbase that will watch games.

1. TAMU was never i nthe Big 8. They don't give a shite about it.

2. They are tired of living in Texas' shadow. They want to move onto greener pastures.

What?

More people will watch to see how things will shake out in the New SEC. They will be intrigued to see how TAMU does in the SEC. They'll be interested in seeing match-ups they've rarely or even never seen before.

You really don't understand the business of college football do you?

where did i say TAMU would be a bad choice (at least in these terms)? i haven't

they are still going to hate UT more than any other school and follow UT religiously as a result of that hate

you don't just erase that shite by joining a new conference

their fight song involves talkin shite about UT

theoretically, but you're still losing those south carolina or bama fans, who won't be watching that network, as they'll have to go to the new network broadcasting their games

i'll give an example

if Bama would be playing, N 2M bama fans would watch bama on ESPN

if TAMU replaces bama in that game, 2M TAMU fans = the 2M bama fans who won't be tuning in now (as they'll be watching on whichever other avenue is available)

now when you're talking about bumping USC, Ole Miss, or MSU it works out. but the total viewers of TAMU is tempered by the lost viewers of those fanbases. there is a net gain

now if we're talking about Missouri, then i doubt there is a net gain, as losing the current SEC fanbase audience will be a greater loss than whatever Missouri fans can add
