Nothing like sitting at the airport watching a wall of dust in the sky attack the tumbleweeds flying across the tarmac for good o' texas fun.

i've heard grumblings that Tceh is none to happy with getting less money than us...so there's still a chance this new Big XII deal falls through...
Nothing against A&M, But I hope the deal falls apart like a cheap suit just to see Texas fricked.

Also I really hope the SEC now trys to get ESPN to cough up more cash now, 12 teams and a CCG deserve to be making more

The Southwestern-ish Conference is going to fail. The networks won't be able to generate enough nationwide excitement to generate necessary advertising revenue with only 2 or 3 teams worth watching

Hit the nail on the head. It's unsustainable at those funding levels. Doomed to failure.

they might be unhappy...but what leg does Tech have to stand on? There's nothing they can do. They are Tier III Tech in that dusty toilet bowl called Lubbock that rides on the tails of Texas. They know this. The idea of Tech busting up the deal is almost as believable as Okie State bringing it down.

ETA: Or Baylor

The only teams that really lack bargaining power are the teams in the North, and baylor, that were not going to be added to a new conference. Tech and OK St, while limited, certainly have power in this situation.

I disagree. If they have power, that means they have the power to tell the Big12 to eff off and they can go somewhere else. Where?

They don't have the power to tell them to fvck off, but they certainly don't have to agree with unequal revenue bargaining that goes entirely to three teams at the expense of the other seven. The teams that weren't in line for expansion will take whatever they can get. Ok St and Tech have a little more bargaining power though because they are not going to be left out.

Texas' commitment to the 10-team Big 12 was under the belief that they could get a new TV deal that would pay them more.

No TV deal, no Texas. No Texas, no league.

HOWEVER, this still supposes that the Pac Ten will pick up Tech as part of grabbing Texas and Oklahoma if the Big 12 falls apart. If I were them, I'd get it in writing before committing to killing this TV deal.

If Tech doesn't agree, and Texas says ok well, fvck you, and tries to go independent that's fine. The SEC or Pac would just add the four teams that are left in the South. Texas has the most power by far, but let's not act like the other teams are powerless. Just look at what TAMU was able to do.

You can't really compare TAMU to Tech. Two different planets as to their institutions and how they are regarded in Texas

I will say this. As much as TAMU fans talk shite about Tech and hold them at such a low level, it would be hilarious to see Tech stick it to Texas when they bent over to them.
