The two most powerful conferences need to act like the Spain and Portugal back in the day and sort this out.

I think the best case scenario is keep the big 12 alive by the SEC telling Aggie to go back to the big 12 and have the big ten tell Bevo that they can't join the B1G with the LHN.

Bevo should then go make the first move with Aggie and agree that the LHN will become the Big 12 network and think about adding two schools to expand their footprint. How about Colorado State, New Mexico, Memphis, BYU, Nevada or UNLV. Pick the best two out of those.

would never work - texas does not play well with others and would never agree to share monies equally ... which is why things are as they are, on the eve of implosion

and if the world was run by logical, fair and peace loving people, we would have no war. and if people would only procreate if they could afford another mouth to feed and if governments were fair in their distribution of tax revenues, we would have no hunger. your scenerio, which i admit is what i would like to see, simply won't happen. us human beings ain't built that way.

That'll never happen.

That'll definitely never happen.

Do you think that Texas could strong arm the Pac-12 into letting them keep the LHN?

And how is revenue shared in the Pac-12?

I think with Texas' current mindset, the Pac-12 is the best bet. And honestly the ACC wouldn't be bad either. They could frick over the ACC more than the Big 12, and I bet they could have similar pull in the Pac-12.

I find it hard to beleive that Berkeley, UCLA, USC, Stanford, Oregon, and Washington the most powerful members of he PAC 12 would allow Texas the LHN knowing that it would put them at a disadvantage. The old guard of the pac ten won't let another school join like that in my opinion.

I believe the pac 12 shares equally and if not it's no way near the inequality of the current big 12.

the acc was fricked over by fsu already. it worked (unequal revenue sharing) for awhile, then fsu went downhill and the acc championship game went to hell. the network money doesn't support losers for long. as far as the pac 12 goes i just don't see why texas would have that much pull. they have just expanded to 12 teams, got a new tv contract and added a championship game. they are looking at increasing revenues w/o texas. texas might muddle things up, esp in they try to keep their lhn deal. i see a real possibility that going independent as being the best option for them. only because of their network. and to think this is all happening for an increase of $15 million per year for them. it won't be very many years before that ain't so hot with inflation and all.

The most important part of any conference is money, and for the first time all revenues will be shared evenly by all 12 schools.

The only exception would be if revenues were under $170 million where USC and UCLA would be guaranteed an additional $2 million.

I want the Big 12 to stay together. Don't think I like the idea of 16 team conferences.

It's where we are headed, and I really don't mind. With 4 16 team conferences, eight divisions, you essentially have the playoff system. Two teams win their divisions, they have a title game. The four conference champs then play in a NY Day bowl game, with the winners playing for the NC a week or so later. It only adds one game to the schedule of the national championship game participants.
