I talked to some big money types from SEC country and K-State has started working the back channels to try to get us detached from KU so we can hit the SEC when this goes down. Said that the SEC has made it pretty clear that our invite is dependant on not having to drag KU along with us. They hate Kentucky and want nothing to do with another Kentucky diluting their football pool let alone their other sports (baseball, etc.)

I want you all to know that the Aggies will probably be middle of the pack, at best 4th and at worst 10th in this fine football league....

Explain to me exactly what Texas A&M brings to the SEC besides a few more television sets. Their football program isn't even as good as Arkansas. They regularly get their arse kicked in out of conference games. Hell, the Aggies aren't even competitive in the Big 12. They'll be another Ole Miss/South Carolina in the SEC, maybe not even that good.

I agree. What do they bring? I don't know what sport they really excel at.

I think yall will be middle of the pack and could potentially do better, imo. Yall will be able to sell playing in the SEC to Texas kids now, if your AD is smart, will quit playing Texas and get out completely from their shadow. This move, could take the Aggies to a place they've never been eventually.

Cool now you can chant SEC and make all your losses seem worthy now. Seems to be the trend.

Ha!!!! Kansas State is f'n high! I love this quote from someone on there:
"if a&m does jump up and take an sec invite, are they taking our sec invite?"

That's funny. K-State is only good for going to Lafayette and getting beat 17-15.

We're not really "excellent" at any sport. It's all about TVs. We'll take it.

1-3 Vs Bama

The one loss that Bama has against TAMU was when Coach Stallings beat Coach Bryant, Jan. 1, 1968 Cotton Bowl.
Pre Game, Coach Bryant shows up in Aggie boots.

Ken Stabler, #12 1968 Cotton Bowl

Coach Bryant congrats Coach Stallings on win

I love all of the SEC Mizzou haters! Awesome! Because it will be like dancing on a grave if Mizzou is invited into the SEC and spanks about 80 percent of the SEC competition. I and most Mizzou fans would KILL for the opportunity to spank SEC teams.

Sure, the SEC is tough. But Mizzou isn't a walkover team. And what's extremely funny is that the SEC truly believes that A&M has a better football program when in reality they've been a bottom feeder. Don't look at the past. Look at recent Big 12 history.

I know...I know...the SEC wants the Texas recruits and the 12th Man, but still, A&M will just continue to suck like they have for the past 10 years.

Mizzou borders Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas and has a respectable TV market. Not to mention that we've won over 40 games in the past 4 years and only missed the national championship game due to a Big 12 Championship loss to Oklahoma.

And you SEC'ers think Mizzou would be a crappy addition? Really? Kentucky football? Really? Vanderbilt football? Really? Arkansas was embarrassed by Mizzou recently in a bowl game. Mississippi schools would be spanked. Tennessee would be spanked (Yes, Tennessee...you heard right. I compare Tennessee on a good day to maybe Texas Tech). The rest of the power schools would be tough, but give us a few years and we'd give them a run for their money too.

Don't dismiss Mizzou so easily. You're laughable in your quest for A&M considering their performance for the past 10 years in the Big 12.

Laughable.

Yep. We've just been informed Mizzou will roll through the SEC like Rerun on the way to a buffet.

This is a potential good move for A&M. But they will need to be competetive. If they aren't the natives might turn on this decision in a few years and regret it. Heads would roll. I'm sure the horns would love to see A&M fall on their face as a result of this move.

SIAP... makes sense to me...

quote:

This doesn’t necessarily mean that A&M will be joining the SEC (more on that shortly). But if their Board is anything like ours, the fact that a meeting has been scheduled means that a decision has already been made. And if the straw poll showed a lack of support for the proposition, there would be no meeting to have the vote. Having a vote, even one which rejected any action, would, ipso facto, signal that formal discussions had been had, which would be a bit unseemly from a Big XII perspective. The fact that the Board is meeting to discuss whether they'll authorize A&M President Bowen Loftin to act regarding athletic conference alignment therefore means that they've already decided to give Loftin that authority. Capiche?

No one is dissing Mizzou. I'm sure Miss. State would enjoy the company.
